Position Title: Lifted Meal Team Member
Impact Statement: Share God’s love during the Lifted evening meal by creating a welcoming “coffee-shop” environment where homeless men and women are able to encounter the Gospel, engage in life-giving community, and develop intentional relationships with volunteers, Victory Staff and God.
Victory Support Supervisor(s): David Huett - Lifted Chaplain, Dirk Rowe, Outreach Chaplain, and Ivan Moses - Culinary Manager, and Victory Volunteers staff as needed.
Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things. ● Engage guests in graceful, kind and respectful conversations ● Set up and clean the dining area, completing a daily checklist of responsibilities ● Serve food and drinks to guests ● Optional: Bring and/or prepare a meal or dessert for 50-150 guests with or

Position Title: Lifted Class Facilitator / Co-Facilitator
Impact Statement: Share God’s love with men and women who are homeless, who have been beaten up by life, and who are dealing with crisis or trauma by initiating and building relationships with them in the context of a workshop on the subject of your choice.
Victory Support Supervisor(s): Dirk Rowe, Outreach Chaplain.
Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things. ● Facilitators develop a curriculum around a subject area or life skill that will
connect with homeless men and women. (Successful examples include music therapy, art therapy, basic personal finance, etc.)
● Focus classes around discussion, practice and relationship building rather than lecture.
● Facilitators lead a 45-minute class on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday once per week
● Facilitators commit to providing 10-12 weeks of classes. ● Co-Facilitators support facilitators by committing to learn alongside class
participants, with the goal of building relationships and assisting the teacher. They do not need to know the material in advance.
Skills: Successful Team Members have some or all of the following skills. ● Patience to meet broken people in their current states, rather than holding them
to a normal standard of class participation or behavior. ● Ability to build relationships with people experiencing trauma, mental health
challenges, homelessness, addictions and lack of social skills. ● Ability to make downtrodden people feel safe, welcome, and help them achieve
a sense of accomplishment.

Impact Statement: Share God’s love at the Help & Hope Pantry by providing emergency food and clothing assistance. Victory staff promotes self-sufficiency and empowered problem solving by pairing emergency assistance (help for today) with case management to address underlying issues (hope for tomorrow.) The Help & Hope Pantry typically serves more than 150 families each week in north Springfield, where poverty rates soar above the city average of 25%.
Victory Support Supervisor(s): Jessica Boyts - Help & Hope Pantry Supervisor, Help & Hope Pantry Interns from the Victory Restoration Program, and Victory Volunteers staff as needed.
Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things. ● Provide personal, graceful, kind and respectful care to families in need ● Fill orders for food and clothing assistance in the Help & Hope Pantry. ● Minimize interruptions by keeping cell phones and other distractions out of sight ● Commit to serving a complete shift from 8:30AM-12:30PM

Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things. ● Provide detail-attentive painting, remodeling, cleaning ● If qualified to do so, provide skilled labor in electrical, carpentry, construction,

Position Title: Restoration Team Teacher
Impact Statement: Share God’s love by leading classes addressing spiritual, personal, relational, vocational and financial areas of life for men dealing with addictions, unhealthy lifestyles, unhealed hurts, deep grief, overwhelming circumstances. Classes focus different areas including but not limited to Bible study, addiction recovery, and life skills training.
Victory Support Supervisor(s): Mark McKnelly- Restoration Chaplain, Brian Barkhoff - Victory Square Chaplain
Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things. ● 30-day Classes: Some classes will take place for men who are at Victory Square
for short-term crisis assistance. In those cases, classes are offered once per week. Teachers bring their own curriculum. Classes should be crafted to help men who will have unpredictable attendance.
● Restoration Program Classes: Classes for committed members of this program are more in-depth, following men as they go through the formal process of finding healing in all areas of life. Minimum commitment is 1 year with teaching only occurring during 24-26 weeks per year.
Skills: Successful Team Members have some or all of the following skills. ● Professional knowledge or training in an area involving vocational development,
such as interview prep, resume writing, job search skills, and career counseling. ● Professional knowledge of life skills development such as personal finance,
personal organization, study skills, or other similar skills ● Extensive knowledge of scripture and ability to lead others to apply scripture to
their lives ● Gifted teacher with a heart for men attempting to turn their lives around

Mentors devote themselves to helping men get over the finished line of Victory Mission + Ministry’s Restoration Program.

Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things. ● Mentor men on a weeknight, for the purpose of accountability and
encouragement. ● Offer encouragement - Develop relationships, prayer requests, etc. ● Offer accountability - Ask hard questions, sharing the truth in love ● Minimum commitment is 6 months, 1 time per week. These meetings occur
during a 3 hour block of time on a weeknight that best fit your schedule.
Skills: Successful Team Members have some or all of the following skills. ● Gifted with mercy and compassion. ● Passion for helping men complete the requirements of the Restoration Program

Position Title: Special Events Team Member
Impact Statement: Share God’s love by raising awareness in the community of what God is doing at Victory, and by serving the public who attends city-wide projects or fundraisers.
Responsibilities / Expectations : Successful team members do these things.
● Serve others with a positive, flexible attitude. ● Assist Victory staff attending to logistical details of special events by checking in
visitors or volunteers, maintaining displays, distributing literature, serving food, cleaning, or solving problems as needed.
● Show passion for Victory Mission + Ministry’s various programs
Skills: Successful Team Members have some or all of the following skills. ● Ability to work with a team in a servant-hearted, positive manner ● Punctuality and reliability ● Energy and passion to serve.
Training and Supervision: ● Training/orientation will take place at the check in time for each event. ● Written instructions will be provided prior to each special event via e-mail. ● Staff supervision will be provided by Janelle Reed - Outreach and Special Events
Manager, Jason Hynson - Executive Director, and Victory Volunteers staff as needed.
Screening / Onboarding: ● Volunteers will create a volunteer profile by registering for each event online,
and must agree to the terms of this volunteer position description.

● For the safety of volunteers and guests, volunteers may be asked to participate in a background check as needed based on the nature of the project and presence or absence of children on the team.
● All minors under 17 must be accompanied by a supervising adult or guardian. Opportunities: 1. Senior Luncheon: (ongoing) Help serve a nutritious meal once a month to Senior Citizens. Come be a blessing to these men and women by serving lunch and hearing their stories. You will be provided lunch afterwards as well.
● Maximum number of volunteers: 4 ● Location: Franciscan Villa (620 W Scott St, Springfield, MO) ● Dates: Third Thursday of each month ● Time: 10:30AM-12:30PM

Victory Volunteer General Waiver and Photo Release
Confidentiality – Volunteers are asked to honor and respect guests, residents, students, donors and staff by keeping any information shared confidential. Volunteers must agree to hold all information regarding paperwork, conversations or observations about any guest, resident, student, donor, employee or other volunteer in the strictest of confidence. In doing so, volunteers are protecting the privacy and integrity of our ministry. Volunteers acknowledge that in their failing to protect confidentiality, they will no longer have the privilege of serving as a Victory Mission + Ministry volunteer.
Photo/Video Release – I hereby grant permission for Victory Mission + Ministry to use my photograph, video and/or information about me for the purpose of publications, website, promotion or any other use the Mission deems necessary. I understand that I cannot expect compensation for the use of these materials.
Waiver and Release – Victory Mission + Ministry is a charitable organization of limited resources, and the majority of our needs are met through volunteers, who donate their time, talents and resources. The tasks volunteers undertake may sometimes result in injuries. Therefore, out of concern for the welfare of our volunteers and a desire to economically provide services to individuals we are serving, we ask all volunteers to conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner. We also ask all volunteers to assume the risk of injury or property loss from any accident associated with their volunteer service for Victory Mission + Ministry and rely on their own insurance and resources in the event of such accident or injury, and in consideration of Victory Mission + Ministry accepting me as a volunteer, hereby agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Victory Mission + Ministry, its employees and board directors for any and all damages, loss or injuries I may sustain during my volunteer activities. I certify that I have read, understand and agree with each item discussed in the volunteer orientation and training.
