MISSION STATEMENT Inspired by our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Grace commits itself to fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ by nurturing the development of each student spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. With Jesus as our model, we value our Faith and the unique gifts found in each person. We create an atmosphere in our school based on the values established in the Commandments, while fostering a climate of responsibility towards ourselves, neighbors, community and the environment. We welcome all faiths and cultures as part of our school community. Our Lady of Grace School dedicates itself to academic excellence, service, and spiritual growth of all its members so that they, in turn, may bring a Catholic perspective to our local and world communities. Our educational process leads children to embrace and promote peace and social justice in the world.
BELIEFS • The roles of the family, church and school are shared and
deeply woven. • Prayer and worship are of primary importance in our
community. • Through participation in outreach projects, our students
show compassion and love to people in need. • In providing a positive, safe environment, each child feels
supported in his or her own growth. • We dedicate ourselves to the intellectual development of our
students through a challenging academic program, focusing on higher level learning skills and writing.
• Our curriculum fosters a strong academic environment based on previous knowledge and learning experience.
• Students discover his or her own talents through classroom experiences and extra-curricular activities.
• Our primary responsibility is to guide students toward a deeper understanding of their faith and to promote academic growth through a well-developed curriculum.
• We recognize the importance of supporting one another; sharing ideas, knowledge and work creates a team atmosphere which promotes both personal and spiritual growth.
• As a faculty, we strive to develop an open and cooperative relationship with our parents.
• We work together with parents/guardians for the success of our students academically, spiritually and emotionally.
• With the child as the primary focus, we work with parents/guardians to promote the child’s development as a caring, responsible Christian Adult.
PROFILE OF A GRADUATESpiritual Growth • Develop a lifelong relationship with God • Actively participate in the Catholic faith community • Use Christian values when making moral, social, and political
choices • Welcome and appreciate diversity while promoting the dignity
of every human being • Use God-given gifts and talents to serve others
Academic Growth • Develop and maintain a desire to learn throughout life • Use good effective study habits and organizational skills • Communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form • Exhibit creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving

OUR LADY OF GRACE YEARLY OBJECTIVESStudent Performance Objectives Yearly, the Terra Nova scores in science have repeatedly shown this area score to be considerably lower than all other subject areas. With the introduction of the new science series, Science Fusion, Our Lady of Grace School plans to raise the overall science scores by six points by the year 2021.
Although our National Mean on the Terra Nova scores for grades 1 through 7 during the 2013-2014 school year were above ‘anticipated, examination of the specific skill areas showed a low mastery for some of the grade levels. Our goal is to have no students score in the “low range” for the 2015-2016 school year. They will also reach and/or maintain a 60-65 in the high percent mastery category by the year 2021 in all skill areas.
Organizational Capacity ObjectivesOur Lady of Grace School has the goal of wanting students involved in grade specific and a school-wide service project. This will allow 100% support and involvement by the students in the school. During the 2014/2015 school year, we have had approximately 60% involvement in dress down days, fundraisers, and other service projects. By allowing students to choose their own projects, and having more options and a school wide mini-Thon, the student involvement will hopefully increase to 100%.
In the past, Our Lady of Grace development team has raised $30,000 to $35,000 dollars through a letter campaign. Presently, our Development team has dwindled to one person, and there is a need to create a new way of procuring donations. We have decided to create an online development site, increasing our donations by 15-20% in the first year, and 5-10% increase for each of the following years.
