Pre School Timetable

T he timetable for the different rooms can be found on the parents notice board and also in the rooms.

Notable dates for this term

As well as these themes we also include activities that focus on a shape, colour, numbers and letters every month. Theseactivities are provided at set times during the day, one in the morning and the second in the afternoon. I would like to en-courage parents to bring their children to the nursery by 9.30am in order to benefit from the morning activities. Circle Time is a time when we welcome the children, take a record of the attendance and discuss with them either what the day may hold or perhaps what they may have done at the weekend or previous evening. Revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum The guiding principles which should shape practice in all early years settings are: Unique child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments and Learning and Development.

There are seven areas of Learning and Development as follows: Three prime areas – Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development Four specific areas – Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

Assessment under the revised EYFS is divided into: Ongoing assessment, the Progress check at age two and the EYFS Profile (EYFSP) at the end of the foundation stage. The children have a period of rest or sleep between 12.00 and 2p.m.
