BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROVES PURCHASE OF
NEW CENTRAL OFFICE The Grande Prairie Public School District is pleased to report
that the Board of Trustees unanimously approved
Administration’s plan to purchase an existing building at
10127 120 Avenue as the new Central Office. A new Central
Office building has been a long term goal of the Board. The
District has grown by almost 50% in the last five years. The
proposed Central Office building will provide the necessary
office spaces for a growing district now and into the future.
ATTENDANCE AREA REVIEW Assistant Superintendent, James Robinson, District Principal, Joanne Pitman, and Director of Instructional
Programs, Kim Frykas, presented the attendance area recommendations for the 2016-2017 school year. The
Board reviewed the final suggestions regarding “grandfathering” of students, transportation, and out-of-
boundary students. As the District continues to work through the different elements of adjusting
boundaries, we will be communicating with school communities and impacted families in the new
year. Please be sure to read your child’s school newsletters as well as your school’s webpage and
Facebook pages to ensure you have the most up to date information.
INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION
PROGRAM International Education Program
Coordinator Sharron Graham presented
to the Board a review of the International
Program in our District. Last year,
students from China, Germany, Nigeria,
and Columbia participated in the
program. A higher volume of students is
expected to participate next year.
