DEFENCE POLICE FEDERATION Established by Act of Parliament Obituary WILLIAM WALKER WEAVER It is with regret that the death of retired member William Weaver aged 91 years is announced. William joined the Force at COD Donnington in 1970 initially with the Army Departmental Constabulary and then MDP on amalgamation in October 1971. William served as a Constable at Donnington until his retirement in 1986 although during his career undertook detached duties at various locations throughout the Country. Included is a photograph of William directing traffic during the Queen’s visit to Donnington in 1982. In December 2015 William was proud to be awarded the ‘Legion d’Honneur’ for service in the liberation of France 1944-45. A photograph of William is shown below. William passed away peacefully on Tuesday 15 th November 2016 at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. His funeral service was held on Monday 28 th November at Telford Crematorium. William is survived by his wife Joyce, daughter Yvonne and son Simon. William with his Legion d’Honneur award

Obituary

WILLIAM WALKER WEAVER

It is with regret that the death of retired member William Weaver aged 91 years is announced.

William joined the Force at COD Donnington in 1970 initially with the Army Departmental Constabulary and then MDP on amalgamation in October 1971.

William served as a Constable at Donnington until his retirement in 1986 although during his career undertook detached duties at various locations throughout the Country.

Included is a photograph of William directing traffic during the Queen’s visit to Donnington in 1982.

In December 2015 William was proud to be awarded the ‘Legion d’Honneur’ for service in the liberation of France 1944-45. A photograph of William is shown below.
