The "Miss Miranda II"The "Miss Miranda II"The O.A. 50 MK1 is an evolution of the popular Alaskan pilothouse trawler. Ed Monk workedwith some individuals in the Seattle area to come up with the vessel design and had it built inOcean Alexander's yard in Taiwan. It was the first vessel imported into the US by OceanAlexander and there were about 95 built, Miss Miranda being hull #53 of that series.
They are built heavily on solid glass hulls at about .85" thick. They were a very labor intensiveboats to build and in 1984 O/A discontinued the model and began the Mark-2, a much faster,lighter and simpler vessel to construct.
There is a deep keel which helps with stability and protects the 30" props a bit. The boat has ahard chine and flat stern for greater initial stability at rest but can definitely take more nastywater than you'd care to be in.
Miss Miranda II is a three stateroom model, a roomy and bright saloon and galley and apilothouse designed to enjoy extended voyaging. She's got a comfortable and economicalcruise at 8-9 knots but can be pushed upwards to 11 knots. Her bow is flared and she is a dryboat.
She's in fine shape and I'd venture to say the nicest offering of any O.A. 50 on the market!She's always been loved and well cared for.

Miss Miranda II is a walk-around yacht, boarding doors are at midships under acovered walkway, proceeding aft takes you to the cockpit.
Entering the saloon, a dinette that can comfortably seat 6 for dinner is tostarboard. There is abundant storage beneath the dinette. The table, eitherclosed to make more of a casual dining experience, or opens for full dinnerservice. There is a small library at the forward inboard dinette side. Across fromthe dinette, at the after end of the saloon is an entertainment console wiht a flatscreen LCD TV and stereo system. A seating area with two chairs is forward ofthe console and forward of that is a wet bar with ice maker and storage. TheSaloon upholstery was redone by Dean at Mac’s Canvas in 2016, using Ultra-Leather. The saloon is newly carpeted in 2016 with Sounddown lead-foampadding for sound insulation. New Hunter Douglas cellular shades were installedin 2016. Teak flooring is beneath.
The galley is forward and to the starboard of the saloon, has quartz counter tops,abundant storage, Princess 3 burner stove/oven (new 2013), Vitrigrigo AC/DCrefrig/freezer (new 2014), separate purified drinking water tap with an under-sink

charcoal filter, Kenmore microwave oven and deep double stainless sinks. Thisis truly a wonderful galley for those who enjoy cooking while underway or atanchor! The teak cabinetry is stunning!
Proceeding forward and up five steps brings you into the command centerpilothouse. Aft of the Bentley center mounted helm chair is a U-shaped dinette.This can convert to a double sleeping area. Note - there are interior steps up to
the flybridge from the pilothouse! This is a very nice feature for the Northwest!There are stairs at forward port side that lead from the pilothouse down to the
living quarters. There are also stairs leading to the owners stateroom from thesaloon/galley area as well!
Egress throughout the interior is made easy by thoughtful design work by Monk.
The owner's stateroom has a queen sized berth to starboard, creating anopenness not found on most yachts of this size. At the forward end of thestateroom is a mirrored make up vanity with plenty of drawers for storing all thatis needed. New carpet installed in 2016. There is not shortage of storage spacehere as well! The en-suite head and stall shower is accessed from an alcove justoutside of the owners suite or accessed from another door within this stateroom.That makes for an easy accessible day head so to speak. Smart.
Proceeding forward, there are mirror image guest staterooms with upper andlower bunks. The guest head and stall shower is forward. This area was also re-carpeted in 2016.
