October 10, 2011 Press Release: An Exhibition on 'Mental Illness' at Jamia The AJK Mass Communication Research Centre and Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with the Public Health Foundation of India is going to put up an exhibition called ‘Faces-Phases: Images of Hope and Inclusion’ at Jamia, which will bring into focus the issue of mental illness. The photographs shot by the students of PG Diploma in Still Photography, AJK Mass Communication Research Centre and artworks by the students of Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia will be showcased in the exhibition. It will feature the work of students of Jamia: Asif Khan, Ankush Aggrawal, Monica Tiwari, Mukul Bhatia, Naresh Chettri, Pratishtha Kapur, Saumya Khandelwal, and Siddharth Behel. The exhibition takes a holistic, broad, integrative approach towards an issue such as mental illness. With an inclusive approach toward the issue, it hopes to bring into focus the concern of the artists and photographers.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mr. Keshav Desi Raju, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health, Government of India, New Delhi on October 11, 2011 at 10.00 AM in MF Hussain Art Gallery, Jamia Millia Islamia.
