The general scope is as follows:

y Removal and disposal of an existing in-ground hydraulic elevator and all related elevator equipment. All of the existing elevator should be removed except the elevator entrances can conditionally be reused. Once the elevator jack is removed, the hole shall be filled with sand and the jack access hole at the pit floor shall be filled with concrete and properly waterproofed.

y Furn i sh One (1 ) new 2000 l b s . capacity single stage jack holeless hydraulic passenger elevator operating at 80 fpm. Reuse the existing Machine Room and hoistway. The elevator jacks and rails to be lowered into the hoistway through hoistway roof. Hositing of elevator equipment by Elevator Contractor. The existing elevator entrances are to be reused if possible. All hoistway elevator equipment access shall be through the existing front entrances or through the roof. If additional rail supports/jack supports are required, it is the responsibility of the Elevator Contractor. All grouting (if required) of entrance frames, sills, cutouts for piping and conduits are by the Elevator Contractor.

The Facilities Design and Construction department (FDC) at the University of North Carol ina a t Greensboro is seeking a Non-Capital Project Manager, Architectural. UNCG’s picturesque urban park campus includes more than thirty academic buildings, thirty residence buildings, amenity and administrative facilities, athletic facilities, all situated on a campus of more than two hundred acres within a mile of downtown Greensboro. T h i s p o s i t i o n i s r e s p o n s i b l e f o r comprehensive Project Management of multiple UNCG Non-Capital Projects, (less than $300,000 total Project Budget). This position will provide continuity during the project’s design and construction phases exemplifying UNCG’s instructional goals of Expertise, Accountability, Customer-Oriented, Team-Oriented, and Compliance & Integrity.

The purpose and intent of this position is to execute the following duties for assigned projects: (a) act as agent for the department maintaining responsibility for customer relations and customer satisfaction; (b) perform pre-design services for the customer; and, (c) provide management and oversight of contracted design and construction services. Duties include but are not limited to: writing project related technical scoping documents for customers and consultants; development and management of project schedules and work flow; development and management of project budget summaries; technical review of construction documents; and, oversight and management of construction activities in the field. Implicit with these enumerated duties are administrative tasks associated with the formation of contracts, processing of payments, and maintenance of project records in digital and hard copy formats.

A min imum of t h ree to f ive yea r s ’ experience is highly preferred and must be a licensed professional in North Carolina. Candidates wi th a current NCARB certification, and the ability to obtain a license to practice architecture by the North Carolina Board of Architecture, may be considered.
