New Steps in PostalOne!

Step 1 Mail.dat file is used for both verification and payment

Step 2 Provide for DMU to change the weight of Postal Book Versions in PostalOne!

Step 3 Provide for Publisher to change the Advertising % of Postal Book Versions in PostalOne!

Step 4 Provide for DMU to verify and accept multiple Postage Statements

Step 4 Calculate a Postage Statement consolidated at the Issue Level.

Step 1: Mail.dat for Verification and Payment

Permit is at DMU finance number level

Mail.dat is marked ready to pay.

Mail.dat is used to verify mail

Mail.dat data is used to construct Postage Statements

Mail.dat contains correct– USPS No. = Title– Issue Name / Date– Postal Book Edition relationship to MPU ID

Mail.dat may be submitted by Publisher or Agent (Printer or List House)

Step 2: Update Final Book-Weight

Done by DMU Clerk

Choice to update at MPU ID level or at Component ID level – push to equivalent Postal Books

Measure tolerance to estimated weight from Mail.datTM

Message to DMU to re-weigh if outside the determined tolerance % as compared to the estimate

Step 3: Update Final Advertising %

Done by publisher or agent.

Update at MPU ID level or at Component ID level – push to Equivalent Postal Books

Finalize Postage Statement for Payment

Step 4: DMU Finalizes Postage Statements

Postage Statements from Mail.dat appear on DMU Dashboard.

DMU Clerk may drill down on Consolidated at segment level statements to see details.

DMU Clerk may select several statements together to verify.

Verification is done at time of mail entry.

Standard naming convention for USPS number, and Issue Name/ Date

Select Postage Statements based on same USPS number and Issue Name/ Date

Calculate Consolidated Statement based on Statements at the Segment Level (used for payment).

Make Postage Statement data available– At Issue Level– At Segment Level– At Edition/ Version and Entry Office Level

Payment is at the Segment Level

A segment represents a single presort

The segment is defined a production run within the Job ID – Could be constrained by the number of

possible MPU/C Relationships a machine can handle.

The following will force a new segment– Mail out of presort order– A different Job ID– Separate Mail.dat files for separate DMUs.

The consolidated Statement at the Issue level will include data from different segments and different Mail.dat files.
