PROJECT RESOURCES AVAILABLE ONLINE Ben Gallup

Leaders and 4-H members, check out the project resources on the Missouri 4-H website un-der Projects at http://4h.missouri.edu/projects/. For example, there is a really good dog project re-lated link under Dog project

at http://www.workingdogweb.com/Kids&Dogs.htm. Of particular interest to me was the AKC link for activity sheets at http://www.akc.org/public_education/resources.cfm?page=7/. Under Projects are project briefs that also contain ideas for demonstrations, community service, etc. From A to Z, every project has lots of resource information worth checking out.

4-H MOVE ACROSS MISSOURI

Alison Copeland

4-H Move Across Missouri (MOVE) pro-motes physical activity by encouraging youths and families to engage in physical activities they enjoy such as walking, biking, running, swim-ming, dance, taekwondo, gardening and more.

Using an online system, youths and their families can “log” the number of minutes they accumulate throughout the year. Sign up as an individual or as part of a team. MOVE awards will be provided. Sign up on the 4-H website - http://www.4h.missouri.edu/programs/move/. MOVE is co-sponsored by the Missouri Beef Industry Council.

Monthly MOVEment Activity

Youth, families, clubs, afterschool groups and others can have fun while being physically ac-tive.

Follow the Leader

Ask a participant to lead stretching activi-ties. Help the youth be prepared by discussing all the parts of the body that need to be stretched. Work from the middle of the body (torso) out to the limbs. For example, start at the waist, then do the hips, upper leg, lower leg, ankles, then shoulders, arms and wrists. Make sure no body part is missed! Hold each stretch for 20 to 30 seconds. Individuals should not bounce as they stretch!

CLOVER KIDS CORNER Alison Copeland

Through Clover Kids clubs, children learn how to get along,

share, and work in groups, explore their interests, and build self-

confidence. Each Clover Kids Corner provides an activity, infor-

mation or other materials that Clover Kids leaders can use in

planning and implementing experiences that introduce five to

seven-year olds to the 4-H concept of learning by doing.

2. Separate the seeds from the pumpkin. Rinse and pat them dry with a paper towel. Put the seeds in the baking pan.
