in Memory of Eric trimper 6/8/1962-9/9/2010 A true gentleman. A devoted, loving father of twin boys and an amazing person to

those who knew him. He raised two very handsome and gracious young men...and was always proud of them! A very good friend to all

who came to know him. the world and our community suddenly lost a very special person, he definitely set the bar high for all of us...if we strive to be the kind of person he was, this world would be a better place!! He was very close to his loving family. of his sister, Joann and her family, and his Mother and step dad. He had a very sweet, beautiful Fiancé, Lori, and they were so looking forward to a beautiful future together. we are here for you, Lori!! His service spoke volumes of the lives he touched! the funeral home was bursting at the seams, they had never seen anything like this before. Groups of motorcycles roaring in and cars parked blocks away to honor this Man. they could not accommodate all the people coming to pay respects to this awesome man, but yes they did their best! what an honor to be part of this memorial. i wouldn't have missed it. And a special note to one of Eric's dear friends, diamond dave tinsley, your words of wisdom helped so many of us, you touched our hearts! And your rendition of Amazing grace stopped us all in our foot steps to pay tribute, and it was simply amazing! Rest in Peace Et

Here we are, already October 2010 and the Diva Angels Tampa Bay Chapter has been very active. We have done so

many fun rides and events, also while working on a charity event each quarter. First Quarter was for Baka's Horses for Handicap who lost their Hillsbor-ough County Funding and is need of support from the community. Second Quarter we collected school

supplies for the Bloom-ing Place for Kids Camp, which was a great suc-cess from all who donat-

ed money & supplies. Third Quarter is desgnated to Faces of Courage Foundation and we are currently selling raffle tickets for the HUGE Bike Giveaway (donated by Fran Haasch). For the final quarter of this year, we are collecting new paja-mas (size 4-14) for the Pajama Program to benefit children of foster care who need our love and sup-port. PLEASE HELP and bring new PJ's to Quaker Steak & Lube Wednesday Bike Nite on November 17th come to the Diva Angel Tent and help us out with this great cause.......

BACKINBLACK....................HOLLISTER,CALIF.&THEWILDONEInteresting day, it was Sept. 5th and my mother's 79th birthday and while that in itself is pretty special, it's the fact that I was in my big long jacket closet or as I call it "the house of leather". No I'm usually only rum-maging around in the row of hides in mid November or the end of October. But after a few days of rain here in the Suncoast there was a evening chill in the air. And there I was face to face with the realization that I had collected a lot of motorcycle jackets over the

years, a few from friends, a few gifts and a few e-bay and yard sale gems, that at that time I had to have! I have a Kevlar one, a couple yellow and red "Ballistic Joes" for when I take the Ducati or the

big Triumph out, but I gazed at jacket after jacket and I thought to myself (in that Staples guy voice)

WOW ! that's a lot of black leather jackets! Some have a variety of bike brands or vintage patches on them, a few tried to be fancy, and those

have all found a home way in the back. But most of them and the two or three in the very front, my true "old friends" along with the next dozen or so are just your basic black leather motorcycle jackets. I have been asked by many folks, why black ... why leather

... and what makes them "cool" for lack of a better word? Well my history hungry readers we will go on the journey of "the black leather motorcycle jacket" and see why it is truly one of the most significant items we own after our bikes. Our early motorcycle jackets of the 1920's were of the military aviator style as they were the first to realize the properties and qualities of the miracle fabric called leather.Decades ago the properties of leather were known with their Natural breathing and insulation abilities. It's ability to mould to your shape over time and the unique intertwined cork-screw cells that will not tear or rip along a faultline as most fabrics do. Many of these early jackets were made with brown goatskin with short styling and a fitted waist, and with button front closure. Also horse-hide jackets were readily available before World War II as the Army Calvary and most farmers used many horses and provided hides to the clothing in-dustry. Many companies were involved in the beginning of "our" version of the black leather jacket. The year 1933 brought the Joseph Buegeleisen Co. of Detroit, Indian Motorcycles had the

"Ranger" and "Rangerette" for women. While Harley Davidson had jackets since the early beginnings of the company their best sellers were in the 1940's with the "Cycle Champ" and "Cycle Queen". There was Buco, Hercules, Beck, Blatt and many others. And then there was Schott and they were the company that made the black leather motorcycle jacket legendary and cool. The black leather jacket was worn and made famous by so many .... James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause", Peter Fon-da in "Easy Rider" Evil Knievel, Steve Mc Queen and the Duke John Wayne. Then there were some cool more mainstream characters like Arthur Fonzerelli, "Fonzie" of Happy Days and John Travolta playing Danny Zucco in Grease and so many, many others that put the black leather jacket not just into the popularity of the motorcycle crowd, who had already embraced it, but into the mainstream of America's culture.

There were now a lot of companies making new styles and new cuts for the non-motorcylists of the early rock and roll period.

Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, even the early Beatles before their manager "cleaned" them up for popu-lar American consumption. From rockers to bikers to wanna bees on both sides the black leather jack-

et has "cool" and it has history. It's a great fashion statement and still after a century of use, the jacket of choice for many lines of work and recreation. It is one of the few items you can wear to a local bike night or to the hottest New York restaurant and any spot in between. And my friends, we all know

Mr.478

Page 35: October 2010

it only looks better, fits better and makes a "cooler" statement as it ages, kinda like us and our bikes, eh? But alas it was only a few decades ago that our trusty leather armor was persona non grata and had a dark side to it.

There was a time that this jacket had an influence and a significance and a powerful one it was. Some of you remember having to park your bike a few stores down and fold your jacket up on your bike. No one thought of wearing a motorcycle jacket who didn't own a bike to go with it. In the 50's. through the beginning 70's this jacket could

get your ass kicked if you went in the wrong bar. Hotels along the road

would suddenly have "no vacancy". Din-ers and bars had no food or drink for you and the police well they had your number, black leather jacket, a bike and lotsa trouble. Hide your

children, your money and lock up the house honey, the bikers are here.

But in that list I mentioned above, there's one person I left out who singlehandedly sold more black leather jackets and motorcycles than anyone else, and made it a social statement, made it cool and that was "Johnny Strabler" who as we all know was played by Marlon Brando in the 1954 film " The Wild One". For so mathis was the real birth or coming out party for the black leather jacket and the journey into our mainstream American culture. Punk rock pioneers The Ramones would use the same Perfecto jacket many years later and help move its relevence to a new rebellious youth of rockers and bikers.

The Wild One movie was based on a story, that was indirectly based on what became known as the "Hol-lister Riots". In 1947 over the Fourth of July holiday week-end the infamous Gypsy Tour motorcycle event took place, and little did partici-pants realize how this event would forever change the motorcycling lifestyle and set bikers apart from the American mainstream. It was to be a long weekend of partying and watching the races as 4,000 bikes rode into the small town. And while what took place in 1947 in Hollister, Calif. fills books, it was basically a few motorcycle clubs made up of young guys who

had just returned from World War II and after battling in places like the Pacific, Germany and Normandy and after seeing so much death and destruction, well these guys were just trying to get back to the normal sedate way of life that was American girls, family and friends. Guys who were used to loading 16 inch guns on battleships, flying bombing raids over Berlin and killing Nazis, after all these men had just made Amer-ica free for us good citizens and endured the horrors

that came with that job.And my friends if you ever meet any of the men or women that remain that served in WWII you thank them. If you dont know why, well you don't need to read my articles, ever. But the transi-tion for some was tough and it found the men gravitating toward loud, fast motorcycles as many had become familiar with the war models during their service to America. They were settling problems with their fists in local drinking es-tablishments over a beer and a shot. One such place (which still exists today) was Johnny's in Hollister Calif. Soon the men formed motorcycle clubs

to mimic their units from the war and the unity and brotherhood they had within them. Among those clubs that were there on that 4th. of July weekend were The Top Hatters and the POBOB's (Pissed Off Bastards Of Bloomington) of which one member went on to form The Hell's Angels motorcycle club. But the club with the biggest presence was the Boozefighters, a club made up almost entirely of WWII veterans that got the name from someone in a bar they frequented

that said "You might as well name it that because all ya ever do is come in here and fight and booze anyway." And it would be a year later (after the club formed) that they and Hollister would become part of history and later a story and then the most epic bike film ever made. Well my 87 loyal readers, a lot of drinking and wild riding was going on in town while the AMA Gypsy tour motorcycle races went on just outside of the city limits. There was some drag racing for beers and burnouts going on and a few decided to ride their machines into the main street bars, most of them into Johnny's . Barney Peterson

a photographer from the San Francisco Examiner and a sensationalist saw a chance to cause a stir. He staged a photo of an unknown drunk on a motorcycle surrounded by broken beer bottles and he got it published on page 31 of the July 21st. 1947 edition of mainstream America's # 1 magazine LIFE.

It was a full page photo with the caption "Cyclists

Page 36: October 2010

Holiday: He and his friends terrorized a town". But this was far from the truth, Holllister was never "ter-rorized". After all the "Hollister Riots" could not have been too bad,as the motorcycle races took place again just 5 months later and Hollisters economy welcomed back the bikers and their wallets.Even the local police admitted that the bikers "Did more harm to themselves than they did to the town. No one was killed, nor raped no arson or looting and in fact no locals were harmed. But due to sensationalism and overzelous reporting ,motorcyclists and their image would change and the public perception of them taking over our towns, chasing your daughters and wrecking havoc was born. Heck, they even had them kicking dogs. A story and a movie would only cement this image further.

It would be 1951 and Harpers magazine would publish a story

called "Cyclists Raid" by Frank Rooney whos story about a motorcycle "gang"

that takes over a town, was inspired by what he read in LIFE magazine

of the events in Hollister, Calif. that

4th. of July weekend in 1947.This story would lead to the making of a movie that would change motorcyclings image and help two of its stars "make it big".

Marlon Brando and the movie "The Wild One" would help pro-pel one leather jacket maker in particular to the realm of super stardom. The company still puts their mark on the hottest bikers, rock n rollers and wanna-bees everywhere. In 1913 the two sons of a Russian immi-grant Irving and Jack Schott started making raincoats in a basement in New York City's lower east side. They sold them door to door. But in the mid 1920's the brothers were the first to ever put a zipper on a jacket and that would turn out to be a greater innova-tion than first ever thought. For in the year 1928 they produced their first, in house, designed black leather motorcycle jacket with a zipper front. It sold for $5.50 and was named "Perfecto" (after the cigar) ... the jacket was an instant success.

Soon the country would be involved in a world war and the Schott brothers would be commissioned by the U.S. Air Force to produce the "Bomber Jacket" for military flight operations and it was to be made out of leather and for the Navy both leather and wool

"Pea Coats" for service on the open sea. After the war motorcycling , hot rods and rock n roll became the consumers of the Schott brothers jackets. Schott would use horsehide up untill the early 60's and then steerhide after that ... as a sidenote, the jacket Brando made famous is still produced today.

But it was 1954 when Marlon Brando was wearing his Schott Perfecto 618 and would make it the most talked about jacket and company in the world. Oddly enough for a short time it resulted in decreased sales for Schott as these jackets were banned by school systems all over as it was associated with being a "bike hoodlum" or hood. Schott still makes their jackets in NYC at their 100 year old factory. Four gen-

erations of Schotts have kept New Yorkers out of the rain, sevicemen out of the cold and motor-cyclists looking cool and safe. But it would be that one moment by Marlon Brando to use not only his own personal motor-cycle a 1953 Triumph TR6 Thunderbird, but his own Schott Perfecto jacket in what would become a cult classic and what many consider one of the best motorcycle movies of all times. Anyone that hasn't seen it should, anyone that has, well you've seen it many times.

I'm not going to give you a review dear friends of that great movie, you can find 100's out there, go online, order it or rent it, you wont be sorry. But here are a few lesser known behind the scenes facts of this clas-sic. Really if you watch

the entire movie it is simply about a trophy, a girl and a bunch of cool motorcycles .... you all know I can relate with that as a plot.

Production began on Feb.12,1953 and was completed on March 17th. Its original title was "The Cyclists Raid" like Rooney's story, and it was to be shot in Hollister, Calif. but Columbia Pictures President Harry Cohn insisted it be shot at the studios Burbank backlot.

Then the marketing department insisted on a title change and two were offered, "Hot Blood" and "The Wild One" we all know what got the nod. Bikers were used as extras with Brando doing all his own riding and wardrobe selections which included his Schott Perfecto 618 black leather jacket. Ironically Lee Marvin had done no riding before the movie, but he and Brando had a Hollywood rivalry and he

Page 37: October 2010

learned quickly and well, he then went on in later years to successfully race his Triumph Tiger Cub in many desert races. Although it did a respect-able business when it opened in Feb. of 1954, its social statement was huge. While Brando "hung" out with the "real" bikers cast as extras, to pick up mannerisms and lingo, Lee Marvin based his character Chino the leader of the rival gang "The Beetles" on real Boozefighters club member Willie Forkner who was considered a legend among bik-

ers of the era. Although it was not Brando's first big performance, his role as Johnny Strabler the leader of "The Black Rebels" gang made him a screen icon that affected the attitude,

clothing and even motorcycles of many for years to come. This was also the first film in which the manufacturer's logo on the bike was not blanked out. Johnson Motors who was the USA importer of Triumph motorcycles protested being associated with Brando and his "Black Rebels" as did Harley the bike of choice for Marvin and his "Beetles" but the link between them has served both well.

An interesting note that in a country where black leather jackets were paralleling the USA was that Britain banned the film at its release and it would be 14 years later with an X rating that the film would be seen there in 1968.

Lee Marvin and Brando would become friends and they would ride together often and 19 years later they almost starred together again in John Boorman's 1972 movie "De-liverance", but Lee Marvin thought he and Brando were to old to play the parts and Boorman agreed, casting Jon Voight and Burt Reyn-olds instead. Then there was a scene between Brando and Marvin that is said to have influenced the name of "The Beatles" which is supported by comments from George Harrison and Beatles press agent Derek Taylor and in the fact that the scene is used to introduce the Beatles Anthology DVD. While Marvin's gang is the "The

Beetles" it was said since the band was a "Beat" band they became the Beatles,so they say. Well I know a few of you are saying hey"Mr. Almost 500" you didn't tell us why its black? Well that's a simple one my friends ... motor oil, chain lube and most fluids that leak out of vehicles, planes, ships and yes motorbikes seems to be black so the color was chosen to match its environment.

So as I picked out that jacket to go on my ride, I thought to myself who knew how much history and how many stories were behind something we take for granted, that we abuse, stuff into side bags, lay on while we are wrenching on the side of the road and an item that we have come to rely on. It also occurred to me that while I have a barn full of rideable motorcycling history, I also have a very long closet whos history set the stage for motorcycle racing, for clubs, to help our troops defeat our enemies and to make bik-ers safer and also to give us some "bad ass-tude" or "coolness" which ever we needed at the time. As I put my Schott jacket on I thought of a line I liked from "The Wild One" when Brando is asked, "Hey Johnny what are you rebelling against"? he an-swers "What've you got"? Works for me........

Hi there… I just fi nished roadtesting a new trike, it's a SS trike and looks like a big wheel toy we used to ride when we were kids. The trike is made in Marshfi eld WI. And I went to Tampa Bay Trike on 49th St. N. in Clearwater

FL. And talked to Michael “Mike” Kalmerton. He is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and Certifi ed Public Account (CPA). He has 16 years of accounting management experi-ence after retiring from the Army with 20 years of active service. Mike is the managing member of Tampa Bay Trikes, LLC and oversees all operations, sales, purchasing, and advertising. Mike is also trained as an installer for California Side Car and Trike Shop trike conversions. In the back of the house is a technician name William “Willie” Cintron, He has 12 years of motorcycle repair experience and is a gradu-ate of the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI). Willie has extensive experience in maintenance and repair of numer-ous brands of motorcycles, both American and metric. He is also a factory trained technician for conversions of Harley Davidson and Honda motorcycles to Lehman trikes, Hanigan trikes, and Trike Shop Roadsmith Trikes with seven years of hands on experience. The SS Trike or SS X-Wedge trike is a 2011, steel frame with a fi berglass body, and comes in 14 custom colors. The front end looks a little funny but the front tires is 130/75 – 24” radial. And the back tires are a 195/45 – 14” radial, with a electronic fuel injection engine is a SS 117cc, with a dry belt drive 2 – speed automatic trans-mission, so the gas tank is 5 gallons. The trike's weight dry 969 lbs. My test ride was so much fun you have to go and look at it yourself…Till next time. Live life to the fullest and party your A$$ off …DEW

Do you really know what a redneck is? I have heard a lot of people refer to bikers as rednecks. Years ago is was hippies with short haircuts. Then it was farmers, construc-tion workers, Jerry Springer trailer trash people etc etc etc.

The term redneck came about back in the late 1800s and early 1900s the coal miners tried to organize unions. The coal mine companies fought them tooth and nail every bit of the way. The coal mine companies hired guards and detective agencies that were made up of murderers and thieves. They would go into the miner camps and move out anyone who tried to organize a union. The coal min-ers would live in little tents cities of which these hired guns would go and shoot up these tent cities. Theses hired guns were also killing union coal miners wherever they were. The coal miners had enough and started shooting back. There was an elected Sheriff named Hatfield who did not like the Coal Mine companies and he deputized some coal miners who in turn fought back against the hired guns. Hatfield was later assassinated. It came to a head in August – September 1921 at Blair Mountain, WV. In order for the coal miners to distinguish themselves from the hired guns and guards, they went to war wearing red bandanas around their necks to dis-

tinguish themselves from the hired guns. It got so bloody that the federal government was called in to stop the war. I think that it was the only time that our government bombed its own people from airplanes. So now you know what a real redneck is. Of course there are some people that still think that I am a redneck...my friend John McKay thinks I am one. I went to his office one day and left a large stuffed large mouth bass laying on his desk. When he called to ask me why, I told him it was to remind his clients to keep their mouths shut. So John thinks I am a redneck...ha ha. By the time you read this, I will be having fun for another year at Spooks and Scoots. As we all know if it the #1 voted biker event in Florida. Hope to have seen you there. I am going to quit using the phone number 813-363-3616. You can still reach me at 813-744-4448 or 352-450-2267. Please make a note of it!

When I decided to go on my Sturgis and Las Vegas trip, I needed to figure out a way to get my motorcycle home from Nevada because I did not have the time to ride it all the way back to Florida “although I would have and wanted to!!!!”. I had to get back and put the September issue together and only had a few days to do it. So I decided to call one of our loyal advertisers, FREIGHT CENTER, to get my bike shipped back and talked with Sylvia Pankiewicz who took great care of me. The process was simple and painless. There was a location right off the strip in Las Vegas and it shipped to a easy to find location right here in Tampa Bay. For a funny little side story, I went to pick up my bike when it came in and the people who owned the shipping company were actually out at Sturgis. So we talked all about it and reminisced about the good times that we had in the Black Hills. I was very surprised at the care they

took while loading and unloading my motorcycle on the custom wood crate. There were plenty of tie downs and when I left my bike, I felt very secure and never worried about it. Thanks Sylvia and everyone else who had a hand in getting my bike back home in one piece back. I would gladly do this again and might even be planning my next year’s Sturgis/Ve-gas trip already….. Who’s with me? Tony Cianci "Chief Cupcake"

The second time was a charm! After being rained out the first time we had bike night with The Clearwater Threshers, we had perfect weather on September 4th. We had approxi-mately 100 motorcycles in the bike show and we all rode on the field for the national anthem. While the Threshers won the extra inning affair with a great play at home plate, the highlight of the evening was myself (Paul Allen) and our evening's sponsor St.Pete Powersport's Donny Wilson throwing out the first pitch. My pitch was a blazing fastball that was right down the middle and sunk into the dirt after crossing the plate. It was a beautiful sight! Donny's pitch was a 10 mph curve ball that the catcher had to take a bus to catch .... not pretty! Yes, Donny is great at selling motorcycles but don't look for him to make it to the majors play-ing baseball! At least this is the story I am telling everybody! Thanks to the Threshers for a wonderful night (complete with a fantastic fireworks display) and we can't wait to do it again next season!

Full Throttle 56 We do a lot of motorcycle runs and events here at Full Throttle but not many can compare to the 9/11 Run we did this year. The 90-mile trek started at Brandon Harley-Davidson, went to Tampa H-D, stopped at Stix Billiards in Palm Harbor, went to Gulfcoast Harley in New Port Richey and ended at the Village Inn in Zephryhills at the Music & Motorcycle Festival. We had a good turnout and it was great hearing people talking about freedom, our country and memories of that tragic day nine years ago. We actually had a survivor (Cindy Spire) that was in the first tower when it was hit and she graciously told us her heart-wrenching story. Being a part of this type of run puts a lot of things in perspective and I know I'm not the only person that can say how proud I am to be an American!

Congratulations to MJ Shute who had the best hand, Phillip Maldonade who finished second and William Young who was third. We raised $648.50 for the Gold Shield Foun-dation. Thank you to all our stops, all the participants and all the people who helped us make this event happen ... GodBlessAmerica! by Paul Allen

PartyWithRespect Once again the US Military Vets MC did a wonderful job putting on their 3rd annual event. The POW/MIA Table was set up to always remember the men and women that could not be there. We loss one of our US Military Vets MC members this year. D-Day you are missed and will always be loved. You have to see this side of our military. It’s open to everybody. If you like great food, and there was a lot of it. Vendors, a bikini wash, they wash more than just bikes, and some great door prizes. Mark your calendar to attend next year. I can’t say enough to show my thanks to the men and women of the Military that put their lives on the line to keep us FREE. If you love your freedom. Don’t forget to Thank a Vet. October is a very busy month for bikers. With the Cotee River Bike Fest, The Biketoberfest in Daytona, Spook and Scoots, and a number of other things going on. You may not have enough time to take it all in. Bike nights can suff er this time of year. As we get older, (talking about myself ) I just don’t recover as fast from a night of partying as I could a few years ago. But I keep trying. You can fi nd me Tuesday at Venom for Bike Night, Thursday at what is now Tankers Brew & BBQ (Cotee River Lounge) on Grand Blvd in Port Richey. I’m looking forward to getting my bike washed at Wicked Choppers on US 19 in Port Richey the 2nd Saturday of the month at their Free Bikini Bike Wash. All you have to do is tip the women that wash your bike. They make it worth your time and money. Until next time, remember to watch out for the bad drivers out there. ~ The Big “O”

WENEEDTODOMOREHere’s a frightening fact ... There were 199 suicides in Hillsborough County in 2009 and 141 traffic accident deaths. That’s right, more people lost their lives to suicide than traffic crashes. Something is wrong with those statistics. We need to do more to prevent suicides and pay more attention to human lives. The Crisis Center fields more than 100,000 calls per year. If you know anybody who needs help please have them call 1-800-273-TALK before it’s too late.

There are a lot of birthdays happening this time of year and here’s your chance to see if you know their ages: #1) who’s older Adam “Batman” West or the beautiful Sophia Loren ... #2) Author Stephen King or Actor Bill Murray ... #3) News woman Barbara Walters or Actor Mickey Rooney ... #4) Singer Julio Iglesias or Actor Michael Douglas ... and last but not least #5) Rock N’ Roller Joan Jett or Actor Scott (Cha-Chi) Baio?

This was seen on a bumper sticker and reported in Ernest Hooper’s TBT column: We will no longer be called hillbilly rednecks. We will henceforth be known as Appalachian-Americans! Doesn’t that fit our image con-scious country perfectly?

Here’s a new defense ... A Kentucky man was accused of stran-gling his wife and confessed that he committed the crime to police. However, when he went to court he said that due to excessive consumption of caffeine from sodas, energy drinks and diet pills he was so mentally instable that he falsely confessed to the crime. Say what??? Innocent due to caffeine intoxication? I can understand getting a buzz and maybe not remembering what program was on the television but not remem-bering you took an extension cord to strangle and tie up your wife ... sorry I just can’t buy into that!

WHERE’SMYMULLET?

* A USA Today study found that 85 percent of adults wash their hands after visiting public rest-rooms. That is the highest num-ber since the study began back in 1996. Women do better than men with a 93 percent number compared to men’s 77 percent. The study involved 6,028 adults in public restrooms during the month of August.

* The physical education teacher and basketball teacher who inspired the name of a famous Southern rock band died last month in Jacksonville, Florida. Seventy-seven year old Leonard Skinner died in his sleep on Monday September 20, 2010. Mr. Skinner was not a rock and roll fan and was actually a stern, by-the-book teacher who sent a few of the original band members to the principal’s office because their hair was too long. Gary Rossington was the guitarist who named his band Lynyrd Skynyrd ... and the rest is rock and roll history!

TIMETODOSOMEHARDTIMELet’s face it ... actress Lindsay Lohan might be beautiful but she is just one stupid, strung out junkie who needs help. The blonde beauty failed not one, but two drugs tests last month while on probation. That means her probation was revoked and she will probably end up in jail. However, she has beat the system before. You would figure that after three stints in rehab and only serving 13 days of a 90-day sentence ear-lier this year, it’s time for LiLo to spend some serious time in the cement hotel!

* Last month a reticulated python that lives in the Columbus, Ohio Zoo has been named the longest snake in the world by the Guinness Book of Records. The female reptile is 24 feet long!

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble maker bully biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.

“Well, whatcha gonna do about it?” he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.”Come on, man,” the biker says, “I didn’t think you’d CRY. I can’t stand to see a man crying.”

“This is the worst day of my life,” I say. “I’m a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fi red me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don’t have any in-surance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife in bed with the gardener and then my dog bit me.”

“So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all......I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in it, and sit here watching the arsenic dissolve while stirring it to get my courage up to down it in one gulp.

Then some jack-ass shows up and drinks the whole thing! But enough about me, how’s your day going?”

*****************************************

A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel was knitting!

Realizing that she was oblivious to his fl ashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled, ‘PULL OVER!’

‘NO!’ the blonde yelled back, ‘IT’S A SCARF!’

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really pissed. She told him “Tomorrow morning, I expect to fi nd a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!” The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a boxgift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Bob has been missing since Friday.

************************************************* Jacob, age 92, and Rebecca, age 89, living in Miami , are all excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the wed-ding, and on the way they pass a drugstore.. Jacob suggests they go in. He talks to the man behind the counter: “Are you the owner?” The pharmacist answers, “Yes.” Jacob says, “We’re about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?” Pharmacist: “Of course, we do.” Jacob: “How about medicine for circula-tion?” Pharmacist: “All kinds.” Jacob: “Medicine for rheumatism?” Pharmacist: “Defi nitely.” Jacob: “How about suppositories?” Pharmacist: “You bet!” Jacob: “Medicine for memory problems, arthritis and Alzheimer’s?”Pharmacist: “Yes, a large variety. The works.” Jacob: “What about vitamins, sleeping pills, Geritol, antidotes for Parkinson’s disease?” Pharmacist: “Absolutely.” Jacob: “Everything for heartburn and indigestion?” Pharmacist: “We sure do.” Jacob: “You sell wheelchairs and walkers and canes?” Pharmacist: “All speeds and sizes.” Jacob: “Adult diapers?” Pharmacist: “Sure.” Jacob: “Well the we’d like to use this store as our Bridal Registry.”

While shopping in a food store, two nuns happened to pass by the beer cooler. One nun said to the other, “Wouldn’t a nice cold beer or two taste wonderful on a hot summer evening?”

The second nun answered, “Indeed it would sister, but I would not feel comfort-able buying beer as I am certain it would cause a scene at the checkout.”

“I can handle that without a problem.” she replied as she picked up a six-pack and headed for the checkout.

“The cashier had a surprised look on his face when the two nuns arrived with a six-pack of beer. One of the nuns explained “We use beer for washing our hair, a sham-poo of sort, if you will.”

Without blinking an eye, the cashier reached under the counter, pulled out a package of pretzel sticks and placed them in the bag with the beer. He looked the nun straight in the eye, smiled and said, “The curlers are on the house.”

A Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest met at the town’s annual 4th of July picnic. Old friends, they began their usual banter.

“This baked ham is really delicious,” the priest teased the rabbi. “You really ought to try it. I know it’s against your religion, but I can’t understand why such a wonderful food should be forbidden! You don’t know what you’re missing. You just haven’t lived until you’ve tried Mrs. Hall’s prized Virginia Baked Ham. Tell me, Rabbi, when are you going to break down and try it?”

The rabbi looked at the priest with a big grin, and said, “At your wedding.”

Labor Day: I hadn’t been to Daytona Beach in a couple of years, so it was time to see if the place was still rockin. With my biker chick/navigator/photographer/wife hang-ing on, I head towards Main Street. I notice a lot of action over at Dirty Harry’s. Lucky for me, I walked in the right door, cause the closest bar had the hottest barmaid. Above the bar she was wearing nothing but some handkerchiefs. As I ordered the beers, I com-mented about her outfit. Seems (Autumn) spilled something on her other shirt earlier and all they had to replace the garment was 3 handkerchiefs and 2 band-aids. Hmm, I wonder where she put the band-aids?

The band was Blistur and they rocked hard and even mc’d a few games. Who would have known it was so much fun to watch biker babes hold buckets of beer straight out to their sides until they dropped off

one by one. (I guess the light beer wasn’t so light). The band had the crowd moving and grooving, which got me watching this one babe ... Lets just say you couldn’t help but watch her dance. Her dark, braided ponytail (with a wide blonde streak on one side) reached all the way down to her shapely... (well you know). I’m thinking the band should hire her and her girlfriends to dance on stage for them.

Next stop was The Main Street Station. They were having a free Labor Day BBQ with live music. I like the openness of this place, makes you feel like you’re at a friend’s house for a party, not just sitting in a bar. The lovely barmaid on duty was Wendy. She makes you want to gulp your drink (don’t), just so you can go up and talk to her again. The patrons were also in a friendly, talkative mood. This a great way to spend some time,

talking to new friends about the important things in life (bikes, babes and beer). As we were heading home, I decided to detour a little and head into Sanford. I’d heard that the local Blues bar (The Alley) was making a grand comeback under new ownership. You have got to love a place that has (bike only) parking out front (that says a lot to me). I met one of the new owners, Tom, who used to work for Seminole Harley-Davidson. He said they were bringing back premier Blues bands for weekly live enter-tainment. (No cover charge).

With the upcoming “Thunder in The Streets” event in Sanford (Oct. 8-10), I will defiantly visit The Alley again. After all I want to meet the beautiful blonde barmaid who was just coming in as I was leaving.

John Bolls
