Las Sendas Elementary 3120 N Red Mountain
Mr. K’s Korner We are coming to an end of the 1st Quarter. The students, staff,
and parents have made the 1st 8 weeks of school so great! Thank
you for taking the time to volunteer and being involved in the
children’s education. Your support in all aspects of their educational
life is invaluable and we look forward to seeing you often on campus.
Our Parent teacher conferences are the week after Fall Break.
This year, Las Sendas has opted for a digital way to signup for
Parent Teacher Conferences. Our goal is to allow you to sign up for a
time that works best with your schedule. Your teachers will send
you a link to their schedules on September 30th. Please be
courteous of scheduled times and contact the teacher if you are
unable to make your time. It is also important to remember that
school releases at 1:00 the entire week (October 14th-18th). If
you have any questions about conferences, please reach out to your
teacher.
Thank you for being a part of the Las Sendas Coyote family. If I
can be of service to you, please let me know. I will always make the
time to talk to you. My direct phone line is 480-472-8725. Feel
free to use it anytime.

Did you know?
We ask that you please utilize designated cross walks, follow all
speed limit signs, and please refrain from cell phone use while
driving. Do not drop your student off in the crosswalk zones, or in
the RED zones. This hinders the safety of your children.
Hi Las Sendas Coyotes,
My name is Libby Micela and I am our new School Counselor! I am looking
forward to an exciting and productive year working with all K-6th grade
students. Because my job is to help each child be successful in school, I
can be found in classrooms where I teach social/emotional lessons,
facilitating small groups, and working with students individually in the
areas of academic, social, and emotional well-being. My role is to serve as
a student advocate and to work with ALL students to encourage a safe
school climate of trust and respect. I also collaborate with
administration, school staff, and parents in order to best
meet the needs of each student.
Please feel free to call, email, or stop by! I am happy to
assist in anyway I can. It takes a village to raise a child
and I am so very happy to support our students on their
educational journey!
Gratefully,
Libby Micela

Flu season is just around the corner. Influenza (“flu”) is a contagious respiratory disease which is caused by a virus. The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease. Please consider vaccinating your family against the flu.
The flu vaccine is very plentiful and easily to obtain this year. Many pharmacies and doctor offices offer the flu vaccine. Maricopa County offers free flu vaccines for all children 6 months of age to 18 years old at both the Mesa Immunization Clinic and the Apache Junction Immunization Clinic. The Mesa Fire Department will also offer free flu vaccines.
