BALANCING SCHOOL, & PARENTING DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC Set realistic Goals: Make a list of the most important things you absolutely must get done for the day, followed by the things you'd like to get done, and things you'd like to work on if you have time. Create a schedule & routine: When everyone knows what to expect throughout the day, there will be more order around the household. Allow screen time-it's okay. In this unprecedented time, Depending on your circumstances, you may have found yourself balancing work, parenting, and even schooling simultaneously during the day. This transition can be overwhelming and stressful, but below are some tips to help alleviate some of those stressors. Take advantage of FREE VIRTUAL field trips Stay connected with friends and loved ones: Plan zoom parties, Netflix watch parties, and encouragement calls. Take Breaks: Get some fresh air, go for a walk, take a nap, etc,: and allow yourself time to process and regroup when feeling overwhelmed Practice Self-Care: Self-Care doesn't have to be a luxurious spa day or an extravagant shopping trip; it can be as simple as taking a shower and listening to your favorite jams. There are some great self-care ideas listed in the bottom section of the newsletter! CCS Fuel-Up Meal sites- Grab and Go meal siteswill be assigned by the nearest location to thestudent’s home address.

When: Every Wednesday 11 a.m. to 1p.m. & 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Any child 18 andunder can pick up a five-day meal pack.

CSCC Mid-Ohio Market- The Mid-Ohio Market atColumbus State (MOM@CState) is a resourcefor students and community members toaccess free, fresh, and shelf-stable food on aregular basis.

Location:400 Grove Street on the ColumbusCampus.

FreshTrak- helps link people to resourcesbased on their zip code.Free meals for Children- Free fresh producebundles are available at Columbus Recreationand Parks community centers this month.

Franklin County Skill Boost- is aimed at assistingindividuals recently affected by employment shutdowndue to the Corona Crisis and are experiencing financialchallenges: Positive Parenting Workshops (Action for Children):-Action for Children offers several programs andworkshops for parents to learn and develop new skillsto help them.Bloom - A free store serving families with youngchildren in Columbus, Ohio. Our store opens twice permonth. Shop for free baby items including clothes,accessories and toys. Please complete the registrationform before you arrive. (Curbside pick up is availablefor diapers and wipes only.) Coping with Stress Thursday, October 29th from 6 – 7 PM

Small groups are FREE, VIRTUAL on Zoom, brief 1 hour sessions

and you can take as many as you like!
