I always look forward to the Fall Festival at FirstBaptist Church. The excitement of the children and the adultscoupled with the opportunity to reach out to the communityas a whole makes the event very special. I look forward tothe music, food and games. Yes, I like the Fall Festival andhope you will make your plans to be there.
One aspect of the evening that is often overlooked isthe manpower and hours taken to set up for the event and theenergy needed to take down and put away after the event.Again this year a group will be needed to move tables andchairs in preparation for the afternoon activities. Anyone thatcould help with this is being asked to meet me about 2pm onthe 30th and we will get the job done. If you can come for alittle while, stay for the whole event; or stay afterward to help
put things away, it would be greatly appreciated. One credit card company advertises, “Membership
has it’s privileges.” Well, that is true of church membershipalso. Along with those privileges come responsibilities.Credit card companies demand their payment and that it be ontime. Churches do not do that. WE have no “membership
fees”, or minimum payments, or due dates. WE rely on the
faithfulness of the congregation to meet the needs of thechurch. WE rely on one another to be faithful in and withtheir tithes and offerings. As we continue in this slump in our giving, may I remind each of us to be found faithful.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
Paul

Operation Christmas Child
Packing a shoebox as a family is a great way to teach your kidsabout missions. Also, there are several ways to get involved atour church: 1) Have a Sunday School class packing party 2)AWANA is collecting items and kids earn extra AWANA bucksfor participating. We'll use all the items for a wacky packinggame.
