Sacrament of Baptism is held the 2nd Sunday of each month after
10AM Mass. Contact the Parish Office 4 to 6 months before to
schedule Baptism Preparation. Classes are held the 4th Sunday of
the month after 10AM Mass.
Sacrament of Marriage: Call the Parish Office at least 6 months
in advance of desired wedding date to schedule an appointment with
Father in order to set the wedding date & begin the preparation
process.
Sacrament of Reconciliation: 30 minutes prior to Mass or any
other time by appointment.
Communion for the Shut-Ins: Please contact Deacon Tommy
(334-8453) to schedule visits by a Minister of Communion.
Funerals: Families should contact the Funeral Home to make all
the necessary arrangements.
Parish Membership: Every family in St. Joseph Parish is asked to
register with the Parish Office by filling out a census form. If
you have moved, changed your phone number or family information,
please update your records. Census forms may be obtained at the
Parish Office, on our website www.stjoerayne.org or in the lobby of

a person’s growth, sometimes you need to give them some slack
because they are wavering.”

Dear Parishioners,
There is a touching story about a mother’s visit to church with
her five year old child. As they walked down the aisle, little
Christine was drawn to the stained glass windows that were
illuminating the entire church with vibrant colors and images of
saints in glowing light.
“Mommy,” asked Christine, “Who are those people in the windows?”
“They are God’s special friends, the Saints,” her Mom said. “Here
is St. Dominic, over there is St. Therese, next to her is St.
Anthony and over there is St. Monica.”
After a pause little Christine said, in the wisdom of a child,
“I know what a Saint is, Mommy. A Saint is someone who lets the
light shine through.”
Left in awe, her mother whispered a silent prayer of
thanksgiving for her child’s amazing insight. Yes, a Saint is
someone who lets the light shine through, the light of God’s grace
radiating through their lives to you and me and everyone.
On the feast of All Saints, you may want to ask your favorite
Saints to help you see more clearly the brilliant light that shines
through their lives revealing a special gift that God wants to give
you.
On the day after All Saints Day, the Church celebrates All Souls
Day when we remember in a special way all who have died, in our
families, among your friends, as well as all the faithful
departed.
All year long, we remember the names of your deceased loved ones
in Mass Intentions. These names, like a Litany of Saints, call us
to praise God for the goodness of their lives through which God’s
light has shone so brightly. Fr. Savoie and I consider it a
privilege to remember your loved ones in prayer on this special
day, All Souls Day.
The next time you gaze at one of our beautiful stained glass
windows, think of that special gift your loved one has manifested
through his/her life and see that light shining through to you and
me and everyone.
May the light of Christ fill your heart this All Saints Day and

A passenger jet was going through a severe thunderstorm. As the
passengers were being bounced around by the
turbulence, a young woman turned to a priest sitting next to her
and, with a nervous laugh asked, “Father, you’re a man of God,
can’t you do something about this storm?”
