The Spooky Edition!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello ECD Board Members, Committee Chairs and Kiwanians, !I hope that you had a great October! This month was incredibly busy, and I want to thank all of you for your constant dedication and hard work! I say this a lot, but things are going to get busier from here. However, I know with almost certainty that this will be the best Key Club year ever! !Right now our biggest concern is dues! Clubs leave their dues for the last minute. With that said, we NEED to avoid any delinquent dues. Please ensure that you are reminding your Presidents, Treasurers and Secretaries on a consistent basis; remind them on a daily basis if need be! !I hope you had a wonderful Halloween (or stress about American Universities day)! !Yours in Service,

Mona Adib

Happy November!

Hello Everyone! I have been contacted by many club presidents, secretaries, and treasurers concerning questions and difficulties with the MUC. If lieutenant governors could keep an eye out for the newer clubs in particular, in order to assist them with the MUC process, that would be greatly appreciated, as the dues deadline is approaching us on December 1!

I will attach the dues guide once more and ask that it please be sent out to individual clubs within each division, as to ensure that most – if not all – clubs send in their dues on time, and with ease through the MUC. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by email: [email protected] or by phone: 226-339-6309

DUES – Guide to Submitting Dues

Hello everyone! Paying dues can be an intimidating process, but hopefully with this guide to paying dues, it will be clearer as to how to approach it! Every August or September, each club receives a confidential password. With this password, clubs can update their information and membership roster at www.keyclub.org. 1. To update your club’s information and membership roster, visit www.keyclub.org. There is a link towards the top of the page that says “Dues & Reports.” Click that link, and you will see another page. On that page, there is a link to the “Membership Update Center.” Click that link to enter the next page, where you will then see the link to “The Membership Update Center,” which will take you to the login page. 2. Log in using the instructions on the first screen.

a. This is the part where you need the confidential password that you received in the mail. 3. After logging in, follow the instructions on each screen.

a. Update the club advisor information. b. Delete any members from the roster that are no longer a part of the club. c. Update the information for existing members. d. Add new members.

4. Make sure that all membership information has been completed properly. 5. Generate an invoice. 6. Click on the highlighted link in the center of the invoice that reads: “After printing, you must click here to finish the process.” This should be followed by the question: “Did you successfully print your invoice?” 7. Click YES if your invoice printed correctly.

a. If you clicked ‘Yes,” you will see the message: “You have successfully generated an invoice.” i. This step loads the member and advisor information into the membership database.

b. If you clicked “No,” the website returns to the beginning so that you can fix any mistakes. 8. Provide payment according to directions on the website.

a. Mail your cheque or money order to the address shown on the invoice. i. Include a copy of the invoice.

b. Pay using credit card or PayPal. i. Follow the instructions on the website. ii. Include a copy of the invoice.

After generating and printing an invoice, the invoice page is reset to zero so that new members can be added throughout the year, which means members can be updated as soon as some dues are paid! Follow the same steps each time when entering new members throughout the year or when editing member information. New members will receive certain items in the mail, such as member cards, pins.

Email [email protected] if you have any questions regarding dues or MUC.

In October, throughout Eastern Canada several Key Leader weekends were held, and all I can say is wow! Thank you to all the Board members who attended! I hope that you will share what you learned about Service Leadership with your clubs and divisions.

I also want to give one huge THANK YOU to our amazing Key Leader Ambassador Rohini Gupta from division 8/9 for doing an excellent job of promoting Key Leader! One more weekend to go! :D

Early Birds Clubs

We always try to encourage clubs to pay their dues by the November 1st Early Birds Deadline. The following clubs’ dues have been received by Key Club International:

!AN Meyer High School

College St Joseph De Hull   Colonel Gray High School

North Lambton Secondary School  Saint Paul Catholic High School

!*Please note that it takes several days to process dues. Clubs who paid by the Early Birds deadline might not be in the Membership Report yet* !This means that about 45 clubs still haven’t paid their dues, which is a problem. Please check with every club (EVERY SINGLE CLUB) to make sure that they have their login information (email and password) for the Membership Update Centre. If they don’t please, email Jasmine, Shelley or me immediately.
