Dues The Membership Update Center is open for clubs to update their membership and pay dues. District dues are $6.50 and International dues are $7.00. Clubs that submit dues and membership roster forms by November 1, 2014, will receive an Early Bird patch for their club banner. Click here to access the Membership Update Center tutorial. Click here to access the Membership Update Center.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is a great way for your club’s members to come together this month! Order Trick-or-Treat boxes for your club today. More information about Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF can be found here. All proceeds go to The Eliminate Project.

Online Monthly Report Submission One feature of our new website is online submission for monthly reports. Club secretaries can now submit monthly reports online. This will make submission easier and more efficient. Below is the link that directs one to the page where the report can be accessed. It is important that secretaries select the correct division before completing the report because this determines which lieutenant governor receives the report. Once the report is submitted, it will be sent to your lieutenant governor and Hunter Burkhardt, the Secretary-Treasurer. The club secretary will also receive a copy. Club Monthly Reports are due on October 5, 2014.

The LaMissTenn District Board met in

Harahan, LA, for the September Board

Meeting. After not seeing each other since

ICON in July, everyone was excited to spend

the weekend together!

We attended Division 4’s Rally, “The Service

Games”, and had an amazing time with

enthusiastic Key Clubbers! The district board

was pied at the rally to raise money for The

Eliminate Project-yum!

Over the weekend, we planned for New

Officers’ Training, and we hope that Key

Clubbers will like the new changes we plan

to implement. Be on the lookout for a promo

video and an informational brochure! The

district board was so happy to add FIVE new

additions to the board-three LTGs, the District

Webmaster, and the District Assistant.

Northwood High School Key Club in

Shrieveport, LA, nominated the District Board

to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket

Challenge. The video of the board

completing the challenge will be posted on

the district website. Thanks Northwood Key

Clubbers for the nomination! We hope you

enjoy the little spin we added to our

challenge!

The LaMissTenn District Board will have its

next meeting in November in Natchez, MS!

Greetings from the President!

Greetings, LaMissTenn Key Clubbers!

It is such an honor to serve you as your Key Club

International President this year! As your International President,

my main job is to lead the International Board, which consists

of me, our Vice President Kevin Zhang, and 11 Trustees.

Our main goal is to ensure that:

1. You and our 270,000 members have the best

experience possible.

2. Your club has the resources necessary to achieve

its full potential.

To do this, our International Board plans to present multiple webinars, twitter

chats, and video updates to connect with members. We also want to increase the

organizations that we work with to increase our name and influence.

Right now, we are focusing on Trick-Or-Treating for UNICEF as we fundraise to

eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus! This project is one of my passions. We have

the power and possibility to save millions of mothers and their babies from a disease

by paying $1.80. Less than a Starbucks coffee. Less than a pack of gum. Less than a

soda and chips. If we give up one of those items, we have saved LIVES. That idea

motivates me to spread the word constantly to ensure we reach our goal! If you want

to learn more about the project or how to fundraise, please email me!

Thank you for all that you do. Regardless of your position in Key Club (member,

club officer, or district officer), we couldn’t do what we do without your hard work

and passion for changing the world. Thank you for giving up time and energy to

make the world a better place. You motivate me every day.

Yours in service,

Maria Palazzolo

BOO! It’s Service Project Time!

Halloween Service Projects

13 Days ‘til Halloween This is a spinoff of the “12 Days of Christmas”. During the

thirteen days before Halloween, start a “Pay It Forward”

movement in your school or community. You can make a

ghost cut-out called the “Giving Ghost”. Place these cut-outs

on cars or houses of family, friends, and classmates. If you

receive a “Giving Ghost”, you have been challenged to do a

good deed.

Trick or Treat for the Food Bank Instead of going door to door for candy, ask neighbors and

friends for canned goods to donate to the local food bank.

You could also make this a school wide event and collect the

canned goods at school.
