INTRODUCTION• Cyclone Phailin, hit Odisha during October 2013• Damages are 14,500 villages, 90,000 households & 780,000 hectares of crop• World Bank Mission visited Odisha for assessment & agreed for assistance• 30,000 disaster resilient houses have been taken up• Under odisha disaster recovery project (ODRP) within 5 km from the high tide line

(HTL) in ganjam, khordha & puri districts of odisha.• Owner Driven Construction of Houses (ODCH) approach has been adopted• The project is being implemented with 70: 30 funding from world bank & the state

govt.• A sum of Rs. 3, 00,000 is provided to each beneficiary for construction of a 294 sq.Ft.

House• House specifications are One bed room, one drawing-cum-bed room, kitchen & toilet

• The habitat & infrastructure development planning are being prepared by the socio technical support agency, Gram Vikas, in consultation with Project Management Unit (PMU), District Project Implementation Unit (DPIU)
