ЩО ТАКЕ МОЛЕБЕН?

Молебен (від церковнослов’янської мо-

льби - молитва, благання) - це коротке бо-гослужіння, яке зазвичай зосереджене на певній потребі чи нагоді: новий рік, подо-рож, хвороба, акт подяки тощо. Він може бути до Христу, до Матері Божої, або свя-тих. Загальна структура - це утреня, і її мо-жна провадити або на прохання вірних, або за рішенням парафіяльного священика.

Церква просить нас «молитися без перес-танку» - Молитва - це життя Церкви і життя кожного з нас, членів Церкви. І тому, що Христос прийшов викупити і освятити ці-лість нашого життя, жодна частина цього життя, жодна людська потреба, жоден при-від не виключаються з молитви Церкви. Та-ким чином, Молебен - це продовження мо-литви Церкви, про викупову благодать Христа до всіх аспектів та реальностей на-шого життя. "... постукайте, і воно вам відк-риється." - ми покликані постійно стукати у двері Божої милості, і наша віра запевняє нас, що Бог нас чує і знаходиться з нами.

Що таке молебен? Це коротка, але ста-ранна молитва про потреби. Під час Божес-твенної Літургії ми чуємо молитву про що-денні турботи, але часто ми не приділяємо їм належної уваги, оскільки зосереджені на глибоко містичному змісті Літургії. Необ-хідність молитися за щось "мале" (як вчить нас Амброзій з пустелі Оптина), " корот-кою, але палкою молитвою" - ми виконує-мось через молебня. WHAT IS A PRAYER - MOLEBEN

Moleben (from Church Slavonic Mol'ba -

prayer, supplication) is a short liturgical ser-vice usually centered on a particular need or occasion: the new year, a journey, an illness, an act of thanksgiving, etc. It may be ad-dressed to Christ, the Mother of God, or to saints. Its general structure is that of Matins, and it can be served either by request of the faithful or by decision of the parish Priest.

The Church asks us to "pray without ceas-ing" - Prayer is the life of the Church and the life of each one of us, members of the Church. And because Christ came to redeem and to sanctify the totality of our life, no part of that life, no human need, no occasion is excluded from the Church's prayer. The Moleben, thus, is the extension of the Church's prayer, of Christ's redeeming grace to all aspects and re-alities of our life. "...knock and it will be opened to you." --we are called constantly to knock at the doors of God's mercy and our faith assures us that God hears us and is with us.

What is a moleben? It is a short, but dili-gent prayer about one’s everyday needs. Dur-ing the Divine Liturgy we hear a prayer for daily cares, but often we do not pay due atten-tion to them because we are concentrated on the deeply mystical content of the Liturgy. The need to pray for something "small" (the way Ambrosius of the Optina desert taught us), "with a short, but fervent prayer" — is fulfilled by us through a moleben. мо Божої допомоги у молебні. Якщо ми збираємося вирушити в подорож, ми просимо благословення на дорогу. Якщо це день святого, після якого нас назвали, і ми хочемо особливо гаряче молитися до цього святого, ми замовимо молебен, присвячений йому чи їй. На початку навчального року, коли настав час нашим дітям піти до школи, ми замовимо молебен для благословення молоді на навчання. Коли ми хочемо подякувати Господу за те, що почув наші молитви, ми творимо подячну молитву.

Крім приватних молебнів існують загальні молебні. У Церкві є багато молебнів: для освячення води та Нового року, для припинення від негоди та посухи, для одержимих нечистими духами та алкоголіками, урочистими молебнями у першу неділю Великого посту (торжество православ'я) на Різдво.

Співаючи молебні, ми звертаємось до Ісуса Христа, Його Святої Матері та святих. Молебні подяки адресовані Господу. Замовляючи молебен ми подаємо клопотання з іменами тих, для кого або від кого замовлений молебен. Іноді особа, яка замовила молебен, покидає церкву перед тим, як буде виконано молебень, просто залишаючи прохання. Господь приймає будь-яку жертву, але набагато краще молитися разом зі священиком, щоб умовити Бога за нас.

Господь надає нам допомогу відповідно до нашої віри і дуже скоро після молебня.

God’s help through a moleben. If we are about to go on a journey, we will listen to blessing for the road. If it is the day of the saint after whom we were named, and we want to pray especially ardently to that saint, we will order a moleben devoted to him or her. In the beginning of the school year when it is time for our children to go to school, we would order a moleben for blessing the youth to study. When we want to praise the Lord for hearing our prayers, we will order a moleben of thanksgiving.

Besides private molebens there are common moleben prayers. The Church has many of those molebens: for blessing of waters and New Year, for relief from bad weather and drought, for those obsessed by evil spirits and alcoholics, solemn molebens on the first Sunday of the Great Lent (the triumph of Orthodoxy) and on Christmas.

When singing molebens, we turn to Jesus Christ, His Holy Mother and the saints. The molebens of gratitude are addressed to the Lord. When ordering a moleben we submit a petition with the names of those for whom or from whom the moleben is ordered. Sometimes the person who ordered a moleben, leaves the church before the moleben is performed, just leaving the petition there. The Lord accepts any sacrifice, but it is much better to pray together with the priest than to leave the latter to entreat God for us.

The Lord grants us help according to our faith and very soon after the moleben.
