Large Bearing Repair OEL have over 30 years experience of dealing with white metal bearing repairs for the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Marine sectors. OEL are one of the few established white metal repair facilities in the UK and can boast a unique capacity of re-metalling and final machining large bearings under one roof. Our service and repair department are market leading in providing quick turnaround, quality components and technical support to our customers, which is essential for all projects, outages and emergencies. OEL are able to repair bearings with an outside diameter of upto 3 metres. Bearings are repaired using a number of different methods including spin casting, gravity casting and tig welding. Our design team often advise the best methods of manufacture to optimise reliability and durability. OEL have worked closely with GE for over 5 years, supplying bearings for gas turbines located in power stations across Europe and Russia. OEL are one of only two GE approved white metal repair centres in Europe and three worldwide. OEL are experienced in using a wide range of metal alloys from Lead rich to Tin rich. Our internal white metalling processes and procedures are heavily policed and conform to GE specification P13B-AL-3200 and ISO 9001:2008. This means we have full traceability of all white metal entering our facility and we can guarantee that no cross contamination will take place within our facility. Our standard white metal conforms to BS3332. Typically our white metalling processes are inspected using ISO 4386-1 Ultrasonic, ISO 4386-3 DPI. These quality specifications are used to guarantee the bond of the white metal to the backing material and surface quality of the white metal applied to bearing linings.
