Open University of the UK

The OpenLearn story started in 2005 with the goal to open access to education for all.

The website was launched in October 2006 and offers a full range of Open University subject.

In April 2008 OpenLearn reached its target to have 5,400 learning hours of content in the LearningSpace and 8100 hours in the LabSpace.

Yale

Yale believes that leading universities can make an important contribution to expanding access to educational resources through the use of internet technology.

The goals of the project also align with the University's aim to increase its presence and strengthen its relationships internationally.

Open Yale Courses is supported by a grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation in Menlo Park, CA. Through its Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative, launched in 2001, the Hewlett Foundation seeks to use information technology to help equalize access to knowledge and educational opportunities across the world.

Curriki

Curriki's repository is an open source, offering easy access to online materials.

Users can select and modify existing content to shape their own online course (full or custom).

Has over 40,000 registered members and over 14,000 actives of learning in the repository.

Curriki have different ways of funding and accepts donations individuales.

Hippocampus

HippoCampus is a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE) that was designed as part of Open Education Resources (OER), a worldwide effort to improve access to quality education for everyone.

Your content has been developed by some of the finest colleges and universities in the world and contributed to the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC), another MITE project.

Both HippoCampus and NROC are supported by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
