An Invitation to Join Us

Dear CUFIS member,

The Oxbridge Finance Conference (OFC) is a joint venture between CUFIS and OFS(Oxford Finance Society) that launched in 2014, with over 400 students participating thusfar. This year, Cambridge plays host to the 3rd OFC; the Conference will look to build onpast momentum and explore new themes and formats.

We would thus like to extend an invitation for you to join us in organising CUFIS’ flagshipevent. Joining the Organising Committee will allow you to not only explore the manyareas of finance but will also put you in touch with leading members of the industry.

Past OFC speakers include Martin Wolf, Chief Economics Commentator at the FinancialTimes; Lionel Assant, Head of European Private Equity at Blackstone and HelenMorrissey, CEO at Newton Investment Management.

More importantly, this is an opportunity for you to make your mark and be part of anfresh, exciting, student-led endeavour. To apply, please email [email protected] your chosen role in the subject title and a single PDF document containing:

1. Your CV/Resume2. Your statement answering “What do you feel you can bring to your chosen role

and to the OFC Committee?” (Up to 150 words)

The deadline for applications is 8pm Sunday 28 Feb 2016. Applications will be screenedon a rolling basis; we strongly encourage early applications. Successful candidates will beinvited to interview next week.

Role Descriptions

Speakers Director

The Speakers Director will be in charge of identifying, approaching and securing notablespeakers from a wide range of financial backgrounds. Applicants should have a goodknowledge of who’s who in the finance industry, along with strong communication skills.

Sponsorship Director

The Sponsorship Director will be in charge of building the foundations for sustainable

OFC sponsorship, namely finding new sponsors and engaging existing partners.Applicants should have a good understanding of firms in the industry and the ability tothink creatively when tailoring sponsorship packages.

Logistics Director

The Logistics Director will be in charge of allocating and managing resources inaccordance with the budget. This includes sourcing of suitable venues and hospitalityarrangements for guests and delegates. Furthermore, he/she will manage delegate

applications and screen resumes. Applicants should be well organized and able to adapt.

Brand Director

The Brand Director will be in charge of securing a sustainable legacy for the OFC brand,by reaching out to students from all backgrounds across the UK and Europe. He/she willalso manage our social media presence and respond to media requests. Applicantsshould have good communication skills, be tech-savvy and generally be (pretty) cool.Ability to use design programmes is a bonus but not essential.

Importantly all applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility

and be able to commit particularly in Michaelmas term 2016/17.

For all the roles prior experience is not required.
