We request all the experts of different fields of the states should help the chapters in conducting these workshops by providing technical and academic help. We have already uploaded a tentative programme in the web site of IAPM and APCON 2017. Prof. Siddharth Duttagupta has put several hours of his valuable time in preparing this programme. The present executive along with an academic committee helped Dr. Duttagupta in making this tentative programme. As the medical council of India has given a lot of importance on the research methodology, we have introduced a couple of sessions on the first day of APCON 2017 in the student corner. If it is successful, we may think of expanding this programme in future. The general body in APCON 2016 has also requested to form a specialty advisory group who can help the executive committee in the preparation of APCON programme. The present executive will form the modality in forming this group in near future. I request all the members of IAPM to participate in the APCON 2017 in large number to make the conference a great success academically.

HONARARY SECRETARY’S REPORT

Dear FriendsBy now you must have received Jan-

March issue of the IAPM news bulletinand tentative programme of APCON 2017which is put up on website.

As you all know as soon as I tookover as secretary, I had to conductelections for the post of joint secretary,IAPM. The honorary secretary’s office isgradually becoming a store house of undelivered bulletins.I know for sure, many members who have moved placeshave not officially asked us to change their addresses andthe ballots papers and news bulletins are returning back.

I congratulate Dr Asaranti Kar, elected as jointsecretary, IAPM and will be happy to have her as myassociate

As I mentioned in previous news letter, I have startedworking on members data base update vigourously. It ismy duty to inform you about the steps I have taken tillnow. I segregated data state wise and sent to all respectivestate chairpersons, prepared list of addresses and phonenumbers from returned ballot paper envelopes, collectingdata from last conference delegates list, prepared list fromundelivered ballot papers & contacted other pathologistsfrom city and nearby for help and personal contacts. HereI like to give special thanks to chapter chairpersons forhelping me in upgradation.

I would earnestly request all life members, those whodid not get ballot papers, those are in transferable jobsespecially from defence forces, please ensure that theIAPM has your correct current correspondence addressby informing the honorary secretary, the honorary treasurerand Editor-in-Chief by email only. Your email address andmobile number also would be very helpful in electronicvoting in future. Following link to be used for change ofaddress.

Since the year 2003, a lot of discussions occurred inEC and GBMs regarding simplification of membershipprocess and website revamp. So to take that challengefurther, I had discussions with various website companies. Finally after negotiations, agreeable proposal from SobeitTechnology was received. I am extremely thankful toexecutive council members for showing faith in me andapproving the proposal on EC email group. I am veryglad to announce, online IAPM membership processwith online payment facility has come into realityfrom 16th May 2017. Its benchmark in IAPM history. I,appeal to all my seniors, Heads of departments in Medicalcolleges, practising pathologists and friends to urgepostgraduates to become members as they enter residencyprogramme and also spread word amongst colleagues.

In future, updation frequency of web-site by web-master will be more. Finally I propose to make the IAPMelection process through online–voting in my tenure afterdue approval by EC & GB. I am trying my level besttowards it and I need wholehearted support from all of youto achieve this Goal. Still there is lot more to do relatedto website.

The organising committee of the 66th APCON-2017Conference under the dynamic leadership of Prof. ReeniMalik is working hard to make the conference a memorable, academic as well as social experience for you. After yearsthe conference is being hosted within the environs of amedical college and I am sure that will add additionalacademic fervor to this conference.

The IAPM Elections for the year 2018 has beenannounced and the last date for receiving nominations is31st August 2017.

With Best WishesYours Sincerely

Joint Secretary Message

Dear friends,Best wishes and greetings. I am

honoured and humbled that you havebestowed faith in me. With your trust, Ipromise to work tirelessly for theimprovement of our association andaddress the challenges we are facing. Iwill be working in conjuction with theesteemed office bearers of IAPM and together we willmove ahead. One of the issues being the less participationof state chapters of our association. So far after takingcharge, I have received report of activities of five statechapters which are very active and enthusiastic. But it'sunfortunate that we are not receiving the same responseand participation from other chapters so far. So, I take thisopportunity to request all chapters to come forward andtake initiatives towards the academic activities round theyear which will be beneficial for both budding and bloomingpathologists of their states. I invite your suggestions inthis regard which can enrich our association.

Jai IAPM.
