Our website www.jollygymkhana.in was launched on 2nd July 2011 and has been updated
regularly with all the latest information/photographs on activities, notice and events in the
Gymkhana. It has been our focus to make it user friendly and appealing so that more and more
members visit the Gymkhana Website.
The home page is periodically changed according to the festivals and also national and
international events are covered to give an impressive look. Soft copy of our In-House Bulletin is
also uploaded on the website.
This year we did our first International Affiliation with Ambassy Club, Shangai – China and we
certainly hope for a lot many this year. Also we added 6 more domestic affiliations apart from 15
already affiliated clubs. We are working very hard for further affiliations with quality clubs at
different places and there are many more in the pipeline.

Squash is a terrific raquet sport game played regularly in Gymkhana.
At times squash seems a simple game. Get on court, run after the ball, hit it where your opponent
can't get it.
But there's a bit more to it than that.
Playing squash regularly helps the players to increase their physical & mental fitness levels
and that too in minimum amount of time.

public announcement system, associate spouse membership etc. Chairman replied that
sub-committee will try its level best for seats reservation, lift is not possible due to not getting
Municipal Permission. Public announcement system will commence in few days, there is
associate spouse membership in Gymkhana.
2. Shri Sanjay Muchhala asked on membership offered by MCA, breakup of entertainment
expenses, salary to staff and gratuity fund arrangement, venue booking details, royalty from
decorators. Chairman replied that MCA membership is representative membership and
allotted as per decision of Managing Committee and it should not be auctioned. The details of
any expenses are available with account department, Gymkhana has already taken policy
for gratuity to staff, he gave details of venue booking and royalty from decorators.
3. Shri Vishnu Talesara wanted to know what is Modern Gymkhana, there are number of
deficiencies which must be looked into immediately, olive venue should be close, renovation
of fast food area, refund to participants of Marathon etc. Chairman replied that Jolly
Gymkhana has maximum facilities and it is one of the best Gymkhana managed in Eastern
Suburbs. He requested to give constructive suggestions which will be considered by the
Managing Committee, olive venue cannot be closed, fast food area will be beautified. After
death of one member Shri Ajay Bhagat and as advised by doctors it is decided to have
medical test of all participants of Marathon and after the medical test and as advised by
doctors those who are not fit for marathon were given the refunds. This is as decided by the
Managing Committee of Gymkhana.
4. Shri Sanjay Muchhala suggested to renovate the toilets which are not in good condition, also
to beautify the main gate, lobby etc. Shri Manoj Ajmera assured that the work of toilets, lobby
etc. will be taken up at the earliest.
5. Shri Vishnu Talesara suggested for membership insurance at members' cost and again
raised question that if refunds are given to participants of Marathon why he was denied
refund of membership fees paid for his son in 2004. He also raised various questions on the th
last election of members of Managing Committee, which was held on 29 June 2014.
Chairman replied that Election Committee has already replied the letter of Shri Vishnu
Talesara to his advocate and this matter is closed. Membership insurance at member cost is
not viable. It is not proper to raise question of refund of membership after 10 years when the
matter is closed by membership committee that he is not entitled to any membership refund.
Our Lawyer Shri Shaunak Satpute and Shri Harish Gandhi had send him written letter stating
the reason.

At this juncture Shri Vishnu Talesara put an allegation that he received cash of Rs.1,60,000/-
from Shri Parag Gandhi. He has proof for cash given to him and he assured that he will
produce the same within 5 days.
Shri Manoj Ajmera immediately refused such malafide allegation, Shri Parag Gandhi
informed that he has never given cash to Shri Vishnu Talesara, Shri Raja Mirani also denied
such allegation and this allegation is just for black mailing the committee, Shri Vishnu
Talesara should come to meeting with all proofs. Shri Sanjay Sanghvi also denied this
allegation. Chairman informed that when Shri Vishnu Talesara received money why he is
demanding refund again. It shows his bad intention to damage the image of Managing
Committee. Suitable disciplinary actions will be taken for such wrong allegations on
Managing Committee, if not proved.
6. Shri Mahesh Gandhi suggested to make provision in budget for P.F. now payable for all staff
having salary of Rs. 15,000/-. Earlier it was Rs. 5,000/-. Chairman thanked him.
7. Shri Shailesh Shah suggested for solar energy as more than 25 percent of expenses are on
electricity, news papers required in waiting area, Kitty Party and such other get-to-gather in
waiting area should be stopped as it disturbs others, to have library, reading room for
members. Chairman informed that he will look into various suggestions. Shri Mukesh Badani
informed that as per survey report solar is not viable in Gymkhana.
8. Shri Rajendra Doshi said that few unauthorized Zopada touching Jolly Property have come
up on main road. Please write to Central Demolition Board. Huge amounts are invested in
F.D. at about 8 percent interest, it is better to acquire some resort in Matheran or other area,
for getting exemption u/s 80-G, that activities of card room and bar rooms should be
separated, invest in tax free bonds, visit other Gymkhana, the rates are lower than Jolly,
for allotment of any contract please put up on open notice board. Chairman informed
that Gymkhana cannot file complaint for Zopada on footpath, at present it is not viable
to invest in resort, the Gymkhana has affiliation with many clubs in India at various
places, members can visit the same, it is advised that for Gymkhana it is difficult to
continue certificate u/s 80-G, investments in tax free bonds already started, he will look
into other suggestions.

received from members and others. Chairman assured him to see all problems and will
try to solve the same.

informed now Shri Firdaus is appointed to look after all problems including equipments,
maintenance, trainers etc. in respect of Gymnasium.

repairing can be minimized. Chairman thanked him.

matches. Chairman informed that all steps have initiated by Cricket sub-committee.
Now “B” and “C” team have members only.
15. Shri Bharat Kanakiya suggested for clean and quality water in swimming pool, keep
extra spare parts to continue maintenance, Shri Nalin Mehta informed that water is
good and periodical test also carried out, the filter might have been closed sometime
due to electricity problem. Under water lights are under study and to wait for some
time.
16. Shri Sanjay Muchhala once again raised matters regarding membership in other clubs.
Many clubs are sending offers to members and allot to the highest bidders. The
Gymkhana is also paying all charges of the membership. He also suggested to maintain
proper correspondence/letters etc.
He is not receiving proper reply against his queries. He wish that Shri Balwant
Sanghrajka should reply the same. However Chairman said he is head of the Gymkhana
and it is his duty to reply all queries. As informed earlier the membership in other
Gymkhana is a representative membership and it should not be auctioned. The
Gymkhana is paying all charges as Gymkhana has recommended the representative

membership to other reputed Gymkhana/ Club. These representative memberships
can be taken back and given to other members also but it is the privilege of the
managing committee to decide the matter. Shri Sanjay Sanghvi informed that since it is
representative membership it should be by appointment only, to maintain the image of
Gymkhana. Chairman also agreed and said that it is always in the interest of Jolly
Gymkhana to have such power with Managing Committee.
17. Shri Sanjay Muchhala suggested that many minors have taken membership of
Gymkhana in 2001 onwards. Their photos and their profiles should be updated.
Chairman replied that necessary steps will be taken very shortly. Shri Sanjay Muchhala
also suggested free entry to members above 70 years who have transferred the
membership. Shri Paresh Kothari informed that rules and regulations of Gymkhana do
not allow free entry to any non-members.
18. Shri Mahesh Gandhi suggested to have different types of Massage in Health Club. For
this professional agency be employed at the earliest. Chairman replied that the same
can be implemented but it will be very costly which members may not prefer.

it can be studied and replied properly. All should respect the time. Chairman informed
