Technical Notes:

• The report includes graduation and dropout rates for 153 districts that served students who enrolled in Grade 9 for the first time during SY 2016 - 2017.

• The following districts have consolidated and/or closed: Durant Public School District, Greenwood Public School District, Holmes County School District, Leflore County School District, Lumberton School District, Montgomery County School District, Winona Separate School District.

• Districts that consolidated after the beginning of the cohort window do not yet have rates comparable to other districts, as their cohort may be split into the consolidated district and prior districts, based on student enrollment.

• State special schools are included and reported as a district, as they contribute to the overall state graduation rate. These include Ellisville State School, Mississippi School of the Arts, Mississippi Schools for the Blind and Deaf, Mississippi School for Math and Science, Mississippi State Hospital, Oakley Youth Development Center, and Roger Amos McMurtry School.

• Two asterisks (**) indicate the District did not meet the minimum n-count for the calculation of the graduation rate.

• Districts with a graduation rate less than 5.0% are reported as 5.0%.
