The Office of Global Health at Rutgers RobertWood Johnson Medical School was established in2008 to enhance the international exposure of ourmedical students and faculty. Since then, we havestructured and supported international rotationsfor approximately 40 medical students each year.
Major goals of the global health programs:To enhance medical students’ awareness of•global issues related to health.To encourage medical students to immerse•themselves in the culture and health systemof other countries.To send groups of medical students to different•institutions all over the world with whom wehave ongoing collaborations.To provide information about clinical and•community programs in diverse ethniccommunities in New Jersey that would benefitand enhance the clinical experiences of students.To stimulate and support international activities•of the faculty, including educational, clinicaland research activities.

Every December, the annual Global Health Fair providesthe opportunity for presentations relevant to currenttopics in global health, as well as the chance for studentsto share their global health experiences. It is jointlysponsored by the Office of Global Health at Robert WoodJohnson Medical School and the Global Advancement andInternational Affairs (GAIA) program at Rutgers.
