During the past six weeks, our parish community has prayed, fasted and given alms with a special focus on the poorest members of our global community. Our lives were touched by stories from Kenya, Guatemala, the Philippines, Malawi, Haiti, and the United States. Through our Lenten prayers and donations, we have touched the lives of millions of people served by Catholic Relief Ser-vices, our representative to the poorest communities in the world. Please return your Rice Bowl to the baskets in the vestibule or to the parish office. Thank you for your generosity.

A message from Fr. Horacio — Mensaje del Padre Horacio
Seek The Risen Lord
After a death, especially if it’s a violent one that pro-
duces great suffering to family and friends, an almost
invincible exhaustion remains; and yet, the women in
today’s gospel, go hurriedly and very early in the
morning to the tomb of Jesus. Perhaps they were
unable to sleep all night and
had been suffering from tre-
mendous stress, yet they get
up hurriedly and go. It
seemed to them that they had
left something important un-
done due to their rush to be-
gin the Sabbath and they for-
got about their fatigue. They
had also not given much
thought to what would hap-
pen when they arrived at the
tomb, nor what they would
do to enter, knowing there is
a huge rock blocking the en-
trance; but neither their fa-
tigue or obstacles was going
to stop them.
Upon arriving they noticed
the stone has been removed,
but they do not find the body
of Jesus, as they ex-
pected. That had desire; they
had will and determination,
but they had not understood
the words of Jesus that he
would rise again. They were
seeking the Author of Life
among the dead.
Sometimes it can happen to us that we are seeking
God, with effort and determination, but in the wrong
places. Perhaps we may not see his face or feel his
constant presence. Many people are looking for
signs and miracles and perhaps it is in the “gardener”
we have nearby. It is necessary to seek the risen Je-
sus who is with us and then go out and announce it to
others.
For Reflection
In what places or situations do In find the presence
of Christ?
levantan presurosas y acu-
den. Les parece que se han
hacer por las prisas del co-
mienzo del Sabbat y se olvi-
dan de su cansancio. Tampo-
co han pensado mucho que
va a pasar cuando lleguen a
la tumba, no como se les van
a arreglar para entrar, sabien-
do que hay un enorme roca
tapando la entrada. Ni can-
sancio ni obstáculos las iban
a detener.
Al llegar ven que la piedra
esta retirada, pero no encuen-
tren el cuerpo de Jesús espe-
rado. Tenían deseo, tenían
voluntad y determinación;
go ir a anunciarlo a los demás.
