    (57) Abstract :This invention is based on the chemical blanching treatment followed by coating with natural polymer solution. In the presentinvention hydrogen peroxide is used as blanching agent and is also considered to prevent non enzymatic browning of seeds. Coatingwith natural polymer provides a protective covering on individual seeds to protect against browning action of heat during baking. Inthis invention, sesame seeds are treated with blanching or whitening agent followed by coating of the seeds with a natural coatingmaterial that prevents browning of sesame seeds during baking.

    (57) Abstract :The present invention relates to a Giant Magneto-Impedance (GMI) based magnetic sensing device for Non-Destructive Evaluationapplications. The present invention particularly relates to the development of GMI based device useful for non-destructive evaluation

(NDE) of in-service structures or components. More specifically the present invention relates to the development of a magnetic sensordevice using the giant magneto-impedance (GMI) properties of nanostructure ferromagnetic wire shaped materials to monitor thestructural health of steel structures or components which are in-service and intended to use for an extended period during whichvarious damages can be developed such as residual stress, fatigue, creep or the formation of magnetic phase in non-magnetic steel innon-destructive way. In addition to its primary purpose of stated health monitoring of structural steel, the GMI-based NDE device alsopossess the advantage of determining spinning motion of non-ferrous body or using as a security sensor and proximity sensor.

    (57) Abstract :This multi-layered scaffold could be applicable for tissue engineering/regeneration, drug delivery and wound dressing. This processmay be used for phase-wise delivery of the growth factors which would be suitable for the studies of developmental biology. The

novelty disclosed is the various ratios of the therapeutics/pharmaceuticals like antimicrobial agents, analgesics, antioxidants, antiallergic, growth factors and/or other signaling molecules like Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), either in free form or microparticlesencapsulated or combination of both can be taken to formulate the multi-layered porous scaffold with different concentrations ofnatural or chemically modified collagen. Microparticles comprise minimum of two types of polymers e.g. gelatin, chitosan, alginate, casein, PLGA, PCL and multi-layer scaffold contains at least two layers out of which one may be thin film layer without therapeutics, may act as a protective layer, which is desirable for wound dressing. The multi-layered porous scaffold prepared by homogenouscasting of collagen solution on non-sticky substratum and allowed for semi-dry, similarly, the subsequent collagen layers wereprepared and followed by freeze-dry or air-dry. In case of air-dry, the collagen solution was homogenized with surfactants like tritonX-100. Cross-linking agents e.g. glutaraldehyde can be used to prolong the release of therapeutics. In the current product, therapeuticsmay be antibiotic(s) or analgesic(s) of growth factor(s) or any combinations for immediate and sustained/controlled delivery.

    (57) Abstract :Oxidation resistant crosslinked ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is described, wherein at least two differentadditives in the manufacture synergistically increase the oxidation resistance of crosslinked UHMWPE. This allows the manufacture

of oxidation resistant crosslinked UHMWPE using lower levels of additives and/or lower levels of crosslinking irradiation orchemicals. The lower levels of additives and/or crosslinking produce crosslinked UHMWPE having desired physical properties notpossible without the synergistic interaction of the additives. This crosslinked UHMWPE may be used in medical prostheses such as inbearing components having desired physical properties such as wear resistance and oxidation resistance not possible without thesynergistic interaction of the additives.

    (57) Abstract :Apparatus is disclosed for detecting a discontinuity or impedance irregularity in an active line, a neutral return line and/or an earth

return path of an electrical power distribution network. The apparatus includes means for measuring a change in voltage and/or currenflow associated with a deliberate switching of a known impedance and/or a naturally occurring random switching of an impedance inthe electrical network wherein the change in voltage and/or current flow is due to a discontinuity or impedance irregularity in theactive line, neutral line and/or earth return path. The apparatus also includes means for implementing a first algorithm for identifyingthe discontinuity or impedance irregularity in presence of allowable variation in voltage and/or current flow that may mimic or hide adiscontinuity or impedance irregularity in the active line, neutral return line and/or earth return path including a reverse current flowthrough the earth return path. The apparatus further includes means for comparing a result of the measuring with a reference toprovide an indication of the discontinuity or impedance irregularity. A method for detecting a discontinuity or impedance irregularityin an active line, a neutral return line and/or an earth return path of an electrical power distribution network is also disclosed.

    (57) Abstract :A system for treating a facet joint of a patient including superior and inferior resurfacing devices. The superior device includes aresurfacing body configured to conform to a shape of a superior facet articular face, and the inferior device includes a resurfacing

body configured to conform to a shape of an inferior facet articular face. Each resurfacing body exhibits sufficient flexibility totransition from a relatively flat state to an inserted state in which the resurfacing body substantially matches any multi-planarconcavities of the corresponding facet articular face in the presence of compressive forces. With this construction, the system iscapable of establishing a new sliding interface within the facet joint, and can be inserted on a minimally-invasive basis. Theresurfacing bodies can be formed of PEEK, and can include teeth that engage the corresponding facet articular face.

    (57) Abstract :

A wind turbine generator (10) generates power through rotation of a rotor to which a plurality of blades (20) are pivotally coupled andincludes a pitch-angle control section (62) that outputs a pitch-angle command value that indicates the amount of change in the pitchangle of each of the blades (20), hydraulic cylinders {48) each of which changes the pitch angle of the corresponding blade (20) basedon the corresponding pitch-angle command value output from the pitch-angle control section (62), and load measurement sections (66)that measure blade-root loads. A set value indicating that wind received by the wind turbine generator (10) has a biased wind speeddistribution is set in advance in the pitch-angle control section (62). Only when a calculated pitch-angle command value exceeds theset value, the pitch-angle control section (62) outputs a pitch-angle command value beyond pitch command limit values. Therefore/ inthe wind turbine generator {10), a higher load than necessary is not imposed on a drive unit for the pitch angle of each of the blades(20) in a case of a normal wind speed or a wind speed distribution caused by the normal wind speed, and the blade-root load can besufficiently reduced even in a case of a wind speed distribution that occurs when a strong wind is received.
