Message from the President:
Greetings Republican Women! What a great group from PTSDUSA we had speaking at our September meeting. Our many thanks to all three of them for sharing their stories and the ben-efits of Camp Hope! It truly is a remarkable organi-zation providing miraculous help to our combat vet-erans. Another “thank you” to our member Gloria Dearth for hosting our last Meet & Greet @ Persedo’s in Alvin. If you ever need a fabulous place for a get-together and/or “tasting” of adult beverages, con-tact Gloria! Our immediate focus now is our 2019 Tri County Fundraiser—Republicans Every Day (R.E.D.) Gala - on October 18. Lots of information in this news-letter about how you can help and what is still needed. This is the time for “all hands on deck” by providing your time, talent, and/or treasure. Make sure you buy your tickets by September 30 to get the early-bird discount! Lastly, a reminder of the TFRW State Convention in Galvestion October 3-5. There is still time to register for the full convention or for just a day. More infor-mation about that in this newsletter also! Get pre-pared for the battle of 2020! As always—stay informed, and let your voices heard at the local, state, and federal levels. We have to KEEP TEXAS RED, CONSERVATIVE & PRO-LIFE, AND KEEP OUR COUNTRY AND COMMUNITIES SAFE!!!

You can still register for the TFRW Convention! At last count, there were over 700 full regis-
trations! If you cannot attend all the days, you can purchases “day passes” for the day you can
attend.

information is posted to the website. You will not want to miss this opportunity to hear from so many elected officials
all in one place!
Let’s have a great showing of Tri County women at this convention!
November 5, 2019, Election Information: Oct. 1 Last day to register to vote in the November 5 election
Oct. 21 First day for Early Voting by personal appearance
Oct. 25 Last day for Brazoria County to receive applications by mail for early voting ballots to be voted by mail
Nov. 1 Last day for Regular Early Voting by personal appearance
Nov. 5 Election Day
What’s on the Ballot… City of Pearland: City Council Position 2 (vacated by Derrick Reed).
Candidates are Tony Carbone (“CPA”) and Jai Daggett (“Principal/Owner”) - per the city’s website.
City of Houston: Mayor, City Controller, Council positions for Districts A-K, At-Large Positions 1-5. Even though
this is for the City of Houston (we may have some members who live within Houston city limits), what the leaders
of the City of Houston do can impact our way of life!
City of Friendswood: City Bond Election (this link takes you to the City of Friendswood site for the election.
State of Texas: 10 proposed constitutional amendments to the Texas Constitution. Pay close attention to the word-
ing for #4 regarding a state income tax. VOTE YES to #4 (Voting YES on #4 is a vote for NO state income tax.)
“Voting YES for this proposition would place a ban on an income tax in the Texas Constitution. If a future legisla-
ture chose to impose an income tax, they would have to pass another constitutional amendment to undo it, which
would require a 2/3 vote of both the House and Senate, instead of a majority vote. Voting YES would further protect
future Texans from the possibility of an income tax.” (Thank you Rep. Dennis Paul for this explanation.) Rep. Paul
has a great explanation of each proposed amendment in his newsletter.
