79th Wyndham Championship The Knights of Columbus com-

pleted another successful tourna-

ment as Marshals for the #3 Par 3

Hole and have received many ac-

colades on the professionalism and

attention to their responsibilities.

You really had to be there to ap-

preciate the dedication and spirit

of teamwork that prevailed. We

were well staffed to cover the hole

for all 5 days of the Wyndham.

Special “THANKS” to team Cap-

tains Jim Keaney, Brendon Hodges,

Jerome Dixon, Jim Keaney Jr and

Marshall Perry. Without their lead-

ership and dedication, we

would not have been successful

this year.

If my information is correct we

have been involved with this

Tournament since 1986. PGK

Pat Kirwan was the one that

got the “Knights” involved and

the rest in history.

This year we made a special

pitch to St Pius and St Paul’s

Councils to join us since it is a

“Knights of Columbus” hole.

Several of their knights joined

us and helped in our success

this year.

As you may know, Brandt

Snedeker won for the second

time with a final score of -21.

He won the very first Wynd-

ham Sponsored Tournament in

2007 when it was still at Forest

Oaks. It was great to see him

win. He is a real crowd pleaser.

Next year the Wyndham will

have a new date, Wednesday,

July 31 thru Sunday August 4.

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

Pancake breakfast will resume

on October 7, 2018, after the

9:00 am Mass. The knights

along with the rest of the par-

ish, took the summer off to

enjoy with family.

If you have missed the past

breakfast, this is a great time to

enjoy with other members of

the parish and to meet new ones. Don’t be shy, introduce

yourself to others.

Come out for great fraternal

fellowship along with good

Pancake Breakfast

Honoring George Beans Life

where it is today. They never

missed a pancake breakfast

greeting all. They would in-

quire as to their membership in

the knights. Our ranks grew by

leap and bounds as a result.

For many years George was

our financial secretary. When

no one would agree to take on the position, George stepped

forward to keep the council

going.

The knights and their families

will honor the memory of Sir

Knight George Bean on Octo-

ber 18, 2018.

We will attend the Thursday

5:15 pm mass follow by a gath-

ering at Vito’s Restaurant.

George and Norma Bean were a moving force in getting the

council to the membership

Community - Help-ing Hands

Life - Novena for Life

In order for your council to earn the Columbian Award this fraternal year, it must conduct at least four major pro-grams in each of the Faith in Action catego-ries of Faith, Family, Community and Life.
