ary The National Exchange and Leadership development Seminar
NeXLDS is the annual meeting of the national body of the organization. This time around, the conference was hosted by AIESEC ILORIN in Ilorin, Kwara State. It provided an opportunity for the leaders and members of the Organization to meet for 5 days of intense discussion, sharing and learning which will propel the Organization forward. The Conference was held at Royal Shekinah Grand Suites, Ajase-Ipo road, Ilorin, Kwara state.In total, there were 189 AIESEC members in attendance for the conference: 160 paid delegates 12 Facilitators 16 Organizing Committee 1 Chair

At a point we were demotivated but we never gave up. We wouldn’t say we are the best but we are smart people and we delivered the best we could. One remarkable thing about the OC is that Everybody did Everything….

The set of guys that Facilitated during the conference are the Member Committee Team of AIESEC in Nigeria 13.14, 3 Internationals from the Member Committee Team of AIESEC in Ghana, Local Committee President of AIESEC Ife (Ayoola Jibola) and a member of AIESEC Jos/Nigeria (Daniel Elema)

13 Few months to the conference, the organizing committee designed a rough budget that would be able to account for every expenses made. We had different alternative plans just in case we hit a dead-end in our initial plan. Along the line, the conference manager paid us a visit and supported us strategically and made things a bit easier for us. Finally, we narrowed our budget to the figures below;Accommodation – NGN 1,

The organizing committee sold the conference to so many organizations (small, medium and large scale), the Alumni body of AIESEC Ilorin, Board of Advisor members, Kwara state government, etc. so as to raise funds for the conference or rather receive in-kind donations. 13 Day 0 – Arrivals
On the arrival night, after receiving every delegation, a movie titled “Captain Philips” was played at the hotel’s cinema hall and a total of 65 delegates paid a token of NGN 400 each to see the movie. During the course of this, room allocations were catered for and at the end of the movie, delegate were allowed to move into their allocated rooms. Small chops such as rock bons and a drink were given to every delegates that same night.

13 Day 1 – Opening Ceremony
This day marked the beginning of a remarkable NeXLDS 2013. Sessions were ran and also the Member Committee President Elections was conducted on the very day….. The various LCs that were on full membership status casted their votes after the applicants gave their manifestoes and had series of discussion (AIESEC and Non-AIESEC related), Tolu Taiwo was elected to be the MCP for AIESEC Nigeria 2014.15

13 Day 2Different sessions were ran on this day and delegates were spilt into different groups to discuss on the subject matter at hand.

Day 2: Social Night (Old school / Boat race Party)
The social agenda was tagged old school party. During this, a boat race was conducted and Abraham Iyiola was the chair for the event. AIESEC in Abuja emerged as the winners of the competition.

13 Day 3Session for this day were held in two different halls. The first ran from 9am to 4pm in the main hall and the second from 4pm till 8pm in a smaller hall due to the fact that an event was to hold in the main hall.

13 Day 3 : Social Night (Pool Party)We believe all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Our night agenda for day 3 was held at the hotel’s pool being that we had included this in the MoU we signed with the hotel management. An organization called Shonga farms supported the conference with 50 frozen chicken and this was prepared and was shared to every delegate at the pool party.

13Day 4 – External Day
The Youth to Business Forum was a daylong event (7th December, 2013) that provided an avenue for global business to converse with global youth.On this day, officials from PAL PENSION, AIESEC Nigeria official partner were the guest speakers for the event. A representative of the Dean of Student affairs, Unilorin was also at the event.
