OFFICIAL REPORT
OF
THE BOARD OF
STATE CANVASSERS OF
THE STATE OF NEBRASKA
GENERAL ELECTION
November 7, 2000
Compiled by
SCOTT MOORE Secretary of State
-~- --~-~--- ---- -- ~~~---
Reported Problems
In the Wheat Belt Public Power District South Subdivision. the Deuel CountyClerk inadvertently provided ballots to all voters within the county instead of the 317voters residing outside of the city of Chappell and the village of Big Springs.
The South Subdivision consists of voters from Cheyenne, Deuel, and KeithCounties. The vote total in Cheyenne County was 300 votes for candidate GaryFreeman, and 659 votes for candidate Stuart Morgan. There were no votes cast in therace in Keith County.
Even if all 317 eligible voters in Deuel County had voted for candidate Freeman,it would not exceed the votes that candidate Morgan received in Cheyenne County.Accordingly, the State Canvass Board has certified Stuart Morgan as the winner in theWheat Belt Public Power District South Subdivision election.
Within the Report of the State Canvassing Board. the vote totals from DeuelCounty have been reported as "0", with an asterisk and reference to this page.
