Introduction

VingCard Marine is an ASSA ABLOY Group brand. We have been the worldwide leading supplier of security access control systems to the marine industry since 1979. During the last decade we have provided tailor-made ISPS solutions for all offshore segments, which we cover in this brochure.

Gangway Control

VingCard Marine’s Gangway Control System is a secure and flexible method of storing crew, passenger and visitor data and providing real time status reports of who is on board and ashore, as required by the ISPS regulations for passenger and merchant vessels.

The Gangway Control is set up at the gangway or other suitable location. The system comprises of the following standard components:

• laptop PC• Gangway Control software• camera• Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card or bar code scanner for internal and external use• RFID card printer and encoder• RFID cards• colour ribbon

Crew, passengers and visitors are registered in the system and an identification card is issued with the person’s photograph and a unique ID, which is stored on a programmed RFID chip.

Real time status reports can be accessed via the internet on the ship’s network and shore side offices can monitor the ship’s status on the internet. Advanced screen menus are available, including Gangway Control, Ship Status and Personal Information reports. Gangway Control always has access to the generated customised reports.

Gangway Control is flexible and can be interfaced with any crew management system, e.g. DNV Navigator, OCS and Adonis. The hardware is common Windows and PC compatible devices, e.g. USB web camera and IP scanners. The mandatory software is the latest Windows compatible. The basic system requires one license per work station (client version) and one license for the databsase server (server version). The software can be installed on multiple PCs, according to the license agreement.

The Gangway Control system is easy to operate and maintain, using well known platforms. The system can be very simple or advanced, depending on the vessel’s requirements.

The system can be integrated through interfaces with VingCard Key, VingCard Mustering, PMS and POS systems.

RFID Card printer/encoder: the Primacy by Evolis is a high-end printer that is easy to use, flexible and fast. The Primacy delivers cards in runs due to the 100-card capacity input and output hoppers and is the first printer in its category to offer this level of performance through such a compact size.

Handheld RFID scanner: provides the highest levels of ruggedness and functionality. The scanner is certified IP67 and IP65 rating and delivers reliable performance for the most demanding of environments and applications.

VingCard door lock: the Signature RFID by VingCard offers the latest RFID technology with the most flexible platform for future applications. UL-fire listed for use on fire doors; ergonomic design; bluetooth and NFC compatible.

Turnstile

The Kappendrup check point is a mobile admittance control and crew/visitor registration which provides security management for gangways and other locations. The check point can be placed anywhere you wish to establish admittance control. After registration, the person is allowed entry and access to the gangway through the turnstile, using an RFID card. A photo of the person and any relevant data is shown on the operator display and times of entry and exit will be automatically registered. An operator can obtain a list of who is present at any time. The Kappendrup check point is extremely versatile and can be tailor-made to contain the funtions required.

Barriers can be set up with the help of P-Gate modules with sensors and the check point operates exactly like traditional security systems used in buildings.

The Kappendrup solution, together with our scanner and software, provides the complete control for gangway entry.

Muster Control

VingCard Marine’s Muster Control system uses LAN-based or wireless scanners for registration and real time tracking of muster stations during safety drills and emergencies.

The scanner has the full list of all crew and passengers on board with picture ID (optional), their respective cabin number and muster station number. The operator scans the ID card or cabin key of each person. If a person assembles at the wrong station or life boat, the correct location will be displayed on the scanner. For emergencies there is a choice to accept registration wherever a person presents themselves.

Multiple muster station scanners may be connected to the ship’s network on a central computer and the scanners are synchronised using Microsoft Active Sync. Reports are generated to show persons who attended mustering and those who did not attend.

Muster Control supports all scanning platforms: RFID, magnetic stripe, bar code and also QR codes.

The handheld RFID scanner is classified IP67 and IP65 and delivers reliable performance and unparalleled adaptability for the most demanding of environments and applications:

• more rugged - the display can withstand a 1.25 joule impact breakage;

• more battery life - the large capacity 5000mAH smart battery delivers an extended battery lifetime of up to 20 hours;

• ergonomic design and ultra white backlight to make even one-handed operation in the dark possible;

• more data capture - new options include high performance, sensitive scanners;

• more connectivity - expanded wireless offering.

Electronic Door Locks

Since revolutionising the marine industry in 1979 with access security solutions, VingCard Marine has continued to lead the market by continuously introducing innovations to the marine industry, focusing on dedicated solutions to the offshore market. All door classes can have an electric door lock mounted.

The Signature RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) lock offers the latest RFID technology with the most flexible platform for future applications:

• 13.56 MHz technology;• compatible with ISO 14.443 A (MIFARE), ISO 14.443 B and ISO 15.693;• compatible with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology enabling RFID communication between our electronic locks and NFC-ready devices;• UL-fire listed for use on fire doors.

Operation:• passage mode, i.e. the door is unlocked;• option of both off- or online mode is available;• equipped with an emergency cylinder for easy access to cabins in an evacuation situation;• auto deadbolt option (automatically extending the deadbolt upon door closure) for enhanced security.• the Signature RFID electronic lock components are sealed and provide better performance for outdoor use.

The Classic RFID lock derives from the standard Classic lock and allows you to go contactless in a few short steps, if you already have standard Classic installed. The upgrade from magnetic stripe to RFID technology is easily done by replacing the top and end cap with the RFID reader unit.

The Remote Controller provides access control on common doors and is fully compatible with VingCard’s Classic and Signature locking systems. It controls electronic striker plates, magnalocks and motor locks.

The electromagnetic Magnalock is a strong, easy to maintain, solution for indoor and outdoor higher security. Each has a lifetime replacement no fault warranty and different weights of holding force. Options include single and double door configurations.

On chosen doors VingCard can provide remote control solutions based on the same platform as the electronic locks. External doors and unique doors where not everyone should have access.

General Master Key Systems

VingCard Marine provides customised TrioVing master key systems to all passenger vessels.

VingCard Elsafe’s card operated locks and traditional lock cases and padlocks can be incorporated under the one Master Key system.

The standard profile cylinder is supplied with 6 pins while the system profile cylinder is supplied with 7 pins. TrioVing cylinders can be supplied with various security levels which are activated during the various stages of building construction. Recodable cylinders can be supplied.

TrioVing has developed a weatherproof (WP) padlock, which can also be incorporated in a general master key system. Secure o-rings at the shackle, in the lock and above the keyhole ensure the WP Padlock is waterproof and dustproof protected against particles. Meets the demands of the IP-57 system, i.e. the lock tolerates being emerged in water to one metre depth and is protected against dust.

Traka RFID key cabinets provide intelligent key management. Hard keys are one of the most important assets on a vessel. The Traka iFob is a bullet-shaped device which contains a chip with a unique electronic ID. Once an individual key or set of keys is permanently attached to an iFob with a robust security seal, it is effectively electronically tagged. Each iFob is assigned a specific port within a Traka key cabinet and locked in place. Only authorised users are allowed access to the key cabinet and to designated keys.

VingCard Marine is the exclusive supplier of Traka key cabinets to vessels and floating installations.

TrioVing’s SMARTair is an RFID electronic, door-mounted, offline cupboard lock designed for lockers and other storage rooms. The cupboard lock is battery operated and therefore does not require cables. The SMARTair uses MIFARE RFID technology which can be combined with other systems, e.g. access control.

VingCard’s RFID Locker lock is designed for mounting on lockers and cabinets. It can be stand alone or integrated to VingCard. The RFID Locker lock provides high security using proximity RFID carriers, e.g. RFID keycards, wristbands, keyfobs, etc. The front desk can customise access to the locker when using RFID technology. A proximity RFID carrier prepared for a locker will be accepted by any vacant locker. Only the RFID proximity carrier used to lock, or a master RFID key, can open the locker once it has been locked. The lockers are left open (vacant) after use. The proximity RFID carrier can only operate one locker at a time, avoiding multiple lockers being locked by the same carrier.

Sentinel II RFID by Elsafe combines in-room security with a functional and trendy design. Revolutionary features include a proprietary interlocking dead bolt mechanism and extended solid steel bolt hinges. In addition, the safe can be securely operated with the same RFID cabin lock keycard.

Energy Saving

The Energy Saving Unit is operated by the VingCard cabin keycard. Electrical equipment and air conditioning are disconnected when the crew member is not in their cabin, thus reducing energy costs. There is a courtesy time when the keycard is removed from the energy saving unit. LEDs ensure easy location when entering the cabin.

EMISSIONS VingCard Elsafe has phased out the use of brass metal plating and painting in the manufacture of its locking systems, opting instead to use a more eco-friendly process to colour stainless steel. These finishes represent 90% of the total manufacturing volume and are applicable to more than 50% of the decorative parts. The change in materials will have a significant and immediate impact on VingCard Elsafe’s environmental footprint, dramatically reducing harmful emissions caused by the manufacture of brass-coated equipment. Approximately 100 tons of brass metal will be replaced with stainless steel as a result of the switch.
