OHIO MACHINE GAME NOTES

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Machine are back home to face off against the Atlanta Blaze on July 21 at 6:00 p.m. The game marks the second-to-last home game of the 2018 season for the Machine. The game will be available to stream live for free on Lax Sports Network. Live stats and periodic in-game updates will be available via Twitter @MachineMLL.

LAST TIME OUT The Ohio Machine picked up their third win of the season and first in eight weeks in Florida against the Launch on July 7. Goalie Scotty Rodgers recorded his first start, and win, of the season in net for the Machine. Rodgers came up with huge stops for the Machine, both inside and outside the crease, to provide a spark for his team. He finished with 17 saves and earned the Coca-Cola Player of the Game. Frank Brown made a statement in his MLL debut, scoring just 24 seconds into the game. The teams would then trade goals back and forth through three quarters. It was Steven Waldeck’s buzzer-beater two-point goal at the end of the third quarter that would set the Machine on the path to victory. Brown went on to score three goals and adding two assists for the Machine’s offensive effort in his first game and Davey

Emala also added a hat trick for himself. Justin Guterding added a pair of goals and one assist. MACHINE VS. Bear Davis, Ohio Machine Head CoachOn the team’s performance against Florida“At that time we did believe that we were out of the playoff contention. That is certainly what we were told, but, just so everyone does know, there is a scenario that puts us in the fourth seed. So, there is a chance. Five teams do need to 6-8, but it’s possible. Just like two years ago when you had all these teams that went 8-6. But, in any scenario, we have to do our job like we did last time out. At that time we did think we were out 100%. Now we are like a 98%, but we still have a chance.”On the lineup without Team USA members“We still have several guys who played in the championship game a year ago and even two years ago. Obviously we have to lean on some of our veterans there. And then we have a lot of new guys who are playing care-free lacrosse right now and going out and having some fun. I think that combination can be very dangerous. We like what we have going into this weekend. If anyone has been used to playing with a different lineup every game, certainly it’s us. We have not had the same lineup for any game this year, so it’s nothing new for us.”
