Oil & Gas PSUs participate in the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Exhibition at VARANASI Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated once in every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the Government of India and reconnect them with their roots. During the event, selected overseas Indians are also honored with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to recognize their contributions in various fields both in India and abroad. The 15th PBD Convention & Exhibition was held on 21-23 January 2019 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The theme of PBD Convention 2019 was "Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India". The scale of event was quiet large & was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas(MoPNG) had put up a stall in the exhibition to display, the landmark achievements of Government of India made in last few years and also how the Govt. machinery is working tirelessly with a single objective i.e. reach out to the poor, transferring maximum benefit to the BPL (below poverty line) families. OIL, along with all other major oil & gas PSUs, had participated in the above exhibition in the common stall of MoPNG, in which some of the popular schemes launched by MoPNG such as Ujjwala Yojana with a objective of giving free LPG cylinders to the BPL families, was showcased. Also Govt is reaching out to the poor through various CSR activities (construction of basic amenities etc). MoPNG also showcased HELP/OALP policy with a embedded feature of Uniform licensing, Revenue Sharing Model, Marketing and Pricing Freedom in regards to ease of doing business in the arena of Exploration. MoPNG stall was inaugurated by Hon’ble MP Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi.
