  • India Imports averaged 372.68 INR Billion from 1978 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 2475.94 INR Billion in January of 2013 and a record low of 4.98 INR Billion in April of 1978. India, which depends on imports to meet 80 per cent of its needs, imported 81.499 million tonne crude oil during the April-August period, up 8.82 per cent from 74.892 million tonne in the same period a year ago.

  • Imports in India increased to 2277.60 INR Billion in July of 2013 from 2104.33 INR Billion in June of 2013.

  • India, which imports 80 per cent of its crude oil, India has shipped 18.50 million tons of oil from Iran in 2011-12.

    Total crude oil imported from Iran by Indian companies during the period 2010-11 and 2011-12 is 18.50 million tons and 17.44 million tons respectively.
