PreparationPrior to updating the F/W, print out the “Configuration” by pressing Print Information >> Configura-tion >> Execute in the menu of the printer. This will capture the current settings and allow for resto-ration of any specific settings back to the unit after the F/W update.

The following limitations exist with the MAC Firmware Update Tool:

● MAC Firmware Update Tool does not support update via USB.

● MAC Firmware Update Tool only supports the automatic update method. If you have beengiven a special firmware which is different than the current firmware on the Firmware Updatewebsite, then you will need to update via PC.

● MAC requires an Internet connection. If the MAC you are running the Firmware Update Toolon does not have an Internet connection, then a PC is required to perform the FirmwareUpdate. Refer to the Okidoc #4285.

Update Procedure1. Network cable to the printer.

2. Turn on the power switch.

3. Wait until “Ready to Print” is displayed.

4. Open the folder that corresponds to your OS.

5. Start the Firmware Update Tool by double-clicking the icon.

6. Read the Software License Agreement, then check the [Agree] checkbox. Click the [Next]button

7. Read the caution notes, then click the [Next] button.

8. Click the [Start Search] button. Alternatively, you can type the IP address of the printer youwant to update in the Access Point field, then click [Ok].

9. Select the device you want to update and click the [Ok] button.

10. Click the [Start update] button to start the update.

11. In the Administrator password field, type in the administrator password (default password is“aaaaaa”.). Click the [Ok] button.

12. The update will start. Observe the progress in the dialog and on the Op panel of the printer.

13. The progress area will display “Firmware update complete” when it has successfully completedthe update.

14. Close the tool to finish.
