Okipage 14 Series Blank Page Printing"LED Head Spring Replacement Fix"

Symptom:
Blank pages started to print.
Cause:
One possible cause is that the LED Head has become misaligned with the Image Drum.This may be due to the top stacker cover springs becoming weak and not applyingsufficient force onto the LED Head to keep the alignment straight when the cover isopened and closed.

Resolution:
The following is the procedure to instruct how to replace the top stacker cover LED Headsprings.
LED Head Replacement Kit # 58256901Consists of : 2 LED Head Springs Part Number 414233011 LED Head Cleaner Pad Part Number 51802901Instruction Sheet Part Number 58348302
Step #1Power off printer and then opening Top Stacker Cover
Picture A) Open top stacker cover by depressing inward on the two cover open latchessimultaneously, each one being located on opposite sides of cover.Picture B) Lay a piece of white paper over the image drum as shown to protect it.

Step #2Disengage the LED Head
(Picture A) The LED Head has one notch opening on each side of the stacker cover
assembly thatsupports the LED Head.(Picture B) Disengage the right side notch first by gently pushing the LED Head to the leftand slightly flexing the retaining tab outward on the right.(Picture C) Gently set the LED Head down face up as shown with cables still attached.Picture A - Step #2

Step #3Remove the two old LED Head Springs
Remove the two old LED Head springs (one on each side) by rotating the springsclockwise to disengage the springs from the spring posts. Discard old springs.

Step #4Install two new LED Head Springs
Install two new LED Head springs by rotating clockwise and applying pressure until thebottom of spring contacts flush to the stacker cover. Note: There is no top or bottom,left or right to the replacement springs and either side can be inserted first.
Step #5Reinstall the LED Head
(Picture A) Insert the left side of the LED Head into the top stacker cover notch opening.
(Picture B) Engage the right side of the LED Head by slightly flexing the retaining taboutward on theright while aligning and inserting the LED Head into notch opening.Picture A - Step #5

Step #6Clean the LED Head
Wipe clean the complete length of the LED Head using the supplied cleaning pad. Thiswill remove any fingerprints or dirt from the LED Head.

Step #7 Remove protective paper and close stacker cover. Printer is now ready foruse.
