The second collection this weekend, December 1 & 2, will be for the Religious Education Program. Thank you for your generosity.
May the Lord make you in-crease and abound in love for one another and for all. This is what St. Paul says to the Thes-salonians, and it is a good thought for the beginning of Advent. All the parties and parades before Christmas don’t mean anything if they don’t help us to love one another more deep-ly. But the good news: God can work not only despite but even within all the activity at this time of year to help us learn what it means to love. After all, that bell-ringing Santa can be a good re-minder, “As long as you did it for one of my least brothers and sis-
ters, you did it for me.”

December – Celebrating the Motherhood of Mary
We will pray a novena to the Immaculate Conception Novem-ber 30 to December 8. The novena prayer will be recited at the 8:00 AM weekday Mass immediately following Holy Com-munion (and at all the Masses on Sunday at the same time.) An altar to our Lady of Lourdes (who revealed herself as the Im-maculate Conception) will be placed near the pulpit with a pe-tition book and small votive candles for lighting. Should you not be able to attend, copies of the novena prayer will be at the back of the church for your private devotion.
