What are the aims of today?

To introduce some key members of the school staff that you and your child may work with in September.

To familiarise yourself with some of the expectations and procedures your child and you will experience in year 3.

To identify the organisation for Days one and two at Old Priory.

To have a tour of the school. To purchase and order school uniform.

In Year Three…….. • Home school diary- communication, notes, reading log, resources

and ways to help your child, homework and week plans.

• * English- RWinc. groups across school based on phonic and reading assessments. Literacy and Language groups- sets.

(reviewed and changed after each assessment point or before) Enhanced English sessions to boost and apply English skills.

• * Reading- ReAL. Time sessions daily within Enhanced English, Reading book levels, Book changing, Wider reading opportunities

• * Maths- sets, Abacus teaching scheme used and adapted, Quick Maths- workshops again in Oct 2015

• * Behaviour- Class rules, Traffic light systems, Team Points/Star Pupils, Golden Time, Sanctions- playtime passport, Learner of the

week, Pupil voice.
