Head Gardener Scott Lucas, who also creates the arrangements in Westbury House, will use selections from the cut garden to demonstrate different design techniques. Yoga in the GardensProfessional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, leads students through a dynamic, yet gentle flow of postures and conscious breathing. Tai ChiTai chi—a unique form of “moving meditation”—calms the mind, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit. Registration for all events is at oldwestburygardens.org. Where indicated advance registration or tickets are required in order to ensure adequate space or materials. All registrations will be confirmed by email or mail. If you have not received your confirmation 14 days prior to your program’s start date, call 516-333-0048 ext. 301.Refunds must be requested in writing and will be issued only if requested at least 14 days prior to the program. A 10% processing fee may be deducted from the refund. No

refunds will be issued less than 14 days before the start of the program. Registrations are processed in the order in which they are received.In the event we receive your registration after a program has filled, you will automatically be placed on a waiting list. You will be notified by phone if/when a space becomes available. We will process your payment at that time.If Old Westbury Gardens cancels the program (e.g., due to rain, instructor’s illness, or insufficient enrollment) you will receive a full refund.If you are unable to attend the program you may contact our office for a receipt, which will enable you to claim your contribution as a tax-deductible gift.

July and August: Special Evening HoursOn Saturdays and Sundays in July and August the Gardens will close at 7pm. (Westbury House will still closes at 4:30pm. Admission Fees after 4pm are: $8 General; $7 Senior; $4 Child, 7–17; Free for Members and Ages 6 and under.

Christmas at Westbury HouseWith decorated period rooms, Santa, cookies and cider, our holiday celebration is a must for the entire family. Weekends, December 6–21

First Night and Tree LightingBe among the first to view Westbury House in its holiday splendor. The evening features a tree light-ing, cookies and cider, a performance by members of the Bethel Concert Choir, and of course a visit from Santa. Advance registration required. Saturday, December 6, 6:30–9pm

Nanny NightGardens’ volunteers, dressed as nannies from the Edwardian era, provide children an experience of holiday music, activities, games, stories, and a visit with Santa. Most appropriate for ages 3–9 yrs. A members-only event.Sunday, December 7, 4:30–6:30pm

Teas and Tours“Cream Tea”Enjoy a cream tea, which features scones, clotted cream and jam, and tea, then tour decorated West-bury House. Art, Antiques, and Curiosities in the GardenJoin us as Old Westbury Gardens hosts an appraisal party in the garden. Object identification and valuations provid-ed by the specialists of Rago Auctions, including, as seen on Antiques Roadshow, David Rago and Suzanne Perrault (decorative arts and ceramics), Sarah Churgin (jewelry), Meredith Hilferty (fine art) and Sebastian Clarke (dec-orative arts, furnishings, silver). They will be joined by colleagues with expertise in Asian property, Americana, coins, militaria, books, maps and ephemera. Rago is the largest auction house in New Jersey and one of the ten largest auction houses in the United States.Thursday, October 2, Noon–5pm.
