EDENOR®
SPLIT/DISTILLED FATTY ACIDS
EDENOR® distilled fatty acids are produced by our state-of-the-art hydrolysis of vegetable oil, such as palm oil or palm kernel oil, followed by distillation of the split fatty acids. They can be further processed to produce soaps, detergents, surfactants and lubricants. They are also used as raw materials for dimer acids, fractionated fatty acids and others. In the production of soaps and detergents, distilled fatty acids optimize the properties such as increasing the quality and quantity of foam, optimizing the dissolution rate and the viscosity.
EDENOR® split fatty acids are derived from palm kernel oil. They are produced by splitting fats at high temperature and pressure. Common applications are in the production of candles and cosmetics, rubber processing or as feedstock to produce derivatives such as soaps and metallic soaps.

EDENOR®
FATTY ACID METHYL ESTERS
We manufacture EDENOR® methyl esters by transesterification or esterification from oil route or acid route based on vegetable raw materials. These 'whole cut' esters are subsequently processed into various alkyl range cuts by fractional distillation such as broad cut and fractionated methyl esters. Our fatty acid methyl esters are used extensively as intermediates in the manufacture of emulsifiers, wetting agents, stabilizers, textile treatments, and waxes among other uses.
OTHER COMMON APPLICATIONS ARE : • Biofuel • Carrier Fluid for Agrochemicals • Fatty Alcohol Intermediates • Feedstock for MES (methyl ester sulphonate) for Cleaning Agents
• Plastics Intermediates • Lubricants in Plastics Additives • Softeners • Solvents for Pesticides • Surfactants

EDENOR®
FRACTIONATED FATTY ACID METHYL ESTERS
Utilizing the difference in boiling points through fractional distillation, cleaner and purer fractions of the respective carbon chain length of fatty acid methyl esters are obtained. These pure fractions have characteristic properties of each chain length, which exhibit a more profound effect benefiting a particular field of application. For instance, short chains are extremely good solvents/solubilizers and penetrants , medium chains are good for the production of surfactants & wetting agents, and longer chains are good
emulsifiers, lubricants, softening agents as well as for the use as biofuel.
OTHER COMMON APPLICATIONS ARE: • Biofuel • Carrier Fluid for Agrochemicals • Fatty Alcohol Intermediates • Feedstock for MES (methyl ester sulphonate) for Cleaning Agents

EMERCOL®
FATTY ALCOHOLS
Our OleoBasics business offers a broad product portfolio of saturated fatty alcohols made entirely from natural oils and fats derived mainly from palm oil, palm kernel oil or coconut oil. Designed from our extensive technical expertise with the additional benefit of eco-friendly properties, our chemicals provide our customers with an environmentally-friendly alternative to other chemicals used in the industry today.
By transesterifying the natural oil followed by subsequent hydro genation, we produce an extensive range of fractionated, short chain, long chain and broad cut alcohols.
16
As one of the world's largest producers using renewable feedstocks, these natural-based solutions complement our full portfolio of products.
Commonly used in the home and personal care industry, our products are also sought after for industrial applications such as anti-oxidants, flavor and fragrances, fabric softener, plasticizer, and agrochemical intermediates.

EMERY®
REFINED GLYCERIN
We manufacture glycerin by hydrolytic splitting of natural oil followed by a series of purification processes from pretreatment with activated carbon to ion-exchange and evaporation. As a result of our extensive industry expertise and continual innovation, our glycerin products are of the highest purity with quality exceeding the standards of all major pharmacopoeias. Our glycerin is also available in a wide variety of technical grades, from 86% up to 99.8%. EMERY® refined glycerin is mainly used in applications such as an auxiliary in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, in the food industry and in the tobacco industry. The special properties of glycerin and its aqueous solutions enable its use, among other things, as a moisture-retaining agent, plasticizer, solvent (for organic and inorganic substances), lubricant and greasing agent, substance carrier, cold carrier, anti-freeze, heat-transfer agent, hydraulic liquid, softener and as an esterification component.Emery Oleochemicals is additionally able to provide our refined glycerin in pharmaceutical grades, Kosher, Halal as well as with non-GMO materials to meet a multitude of customer requirements.

EMERSOL®
OLEIC ACIDS
The applications of oleic acid include but are not limited to various industries such as cosmetics and detergents, plastics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. It functions as an emollient/superfatting agent in lotions and creams, as a soap/emulsifier and cleaning agent in detergents. As additives in plastic auxiliaries acting as a solubilizer and stabilizer, EMERSOL® oleic acids are used commercially in the preparation of oleates and lotions and as a pharmaceutical solvent. It is also a major component of soap as an emulsifying agent.
