Welcome Auction Goers,

Welcome to the annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel School auction OLMC Rewind: ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. I am ever so grateful for your presence and support. The auction committee, under the leadership and talent of Jessica Ham, has worked extremely hard to make our evening ever so enjoyable. The new format, mobile bidding, food trucks, and decorated arcade, Large and Small Hall will definitely go down in the record books and again create lasting memories. Thank you, Auction Committee, for your countless hours of work and incredible enthusiasm to make tonight a reality. You are all amazing!

The activities planned for this evening will hopefully inspire you to laugh, chat with friends, enjoy other’s company, and bid often and high. The beneficiaries of tonight’s event are the children of our parish school. Without the continued, ongoing support of this annual event, the school would not be able to provide and sustain the depth of curriculum and the variety of ancillary programs that support the students’ growth and development. Your generous heart is truly appreciated. Tonight, we celebrate not just the here and now of our school, but the future, the future of our children, the future of our school.

Thank you, parents, parishioners, and friends for your steadfast support. Have a terrific evening, enjoy the atmosphere, savor the wonderful food and beverages, and don’t forget to raise those paddles high and often!

With sincere appreciation and admiration to all, I am ever so reminded that it is the gentle care of our God who enlivens us and graces us with so many blessings.

General Rules You will be given your bidder number as you check in at the door. Use this number for identifi-cation in both the Silent and Live Auctions.

All auction items have been donated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and may not be returned, refunded or exchanged. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. All auction items are sold “AS IS.” Mount Carmel School makes no warranties or representations of any kind with respect to items or services purchased. Values indicated for items are estimated as stated by donors and are not guaranteed by Mount Carmel School.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to initiate contact with the donor of items to arrange for their use at mutually agreed times, unless otherwise specified. All items must be executed by November 4, 2018, unless otherwise specified. Any items not arranged by November 4, 2018 are not valid after that date and will be considered expired.

All purchased items should be removed from the premises by the end of the evening or on Sunday morning. Payment in full must be made immediately following the auction. You may pay for your items with check, or charge to your Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

Silent Auction / Online Bidding This year’s auction will use Greater Giving Online Bidding—allowing for a paperless bidding system. You will bid using your smartphone or tablet on silent auction items. Also, you can easily track Packages by “following” their activity without having to continuously return to a table or bid sheet.

How to Mobile Bid with Greater Giving Online BiddingRegister your smartphone and credit card information on our registration page in advance of the event or upon arrival.

1. The night of the auction, once your smartphone is registered, you will receive an auto-mated ‘Welcome’ text with your bidder URL. If you do not receive a text message, see a volunteer or staff member.

2. After clicking the URL in the text, confirm your name when prompted and begin searching for silent auction packages by number, keyword, or category.

3. Select the package you wish to bid on.

4. You can bid the next increment, set a max bid, or simply “Watch” packages. If you enter the highest max bid on a package, the system will automatically place bids in your favor until your max bid is reached or until the silent auction closes. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid.

5. To purchase a package at the Buy Now price, select the Buy Now button.

6. To make a general donation, select the Donation button on your home screen and choose a pre-set amount or select the Custom Amount button to enter the amount you wish to donate and select OK.

7. If you’re outbid at any point before the silent auction closes, you’ll be notified by text message.

8. You can keep an eye on packages you’ve bid on or are watching by selecting the menu button and selecting the My List button located at the left.

9. As soon as the silent auction closes, the guest with the highest bid will win.

10. Under “My List” you can check your winning packages.

Auction Rules

Page 8: OLMC Rewind - Amazon Web Services · until your max bid is reached or until the silent auction closes. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted

Multiple Bid ItemsAs indicated on specific bid sheets, these items will be listed at a specific price for a maximum number of people to purchase. Once the maximum number of bidders is met, the item will close.

Live AuctionTo enter a bid, promptly raise your paddle high in the air, so our Auctioneer and spotters can clearly see your bid number. The Auctioneer will acknowledge bids and the winning bidder at his sole discretion. Once the Auctioneer determines a winning bid, the title then passes to that bidder, who assumes all responsibility for and is liable to pay the full purchase price of the item. Please leave your bidder paddle on the table at the end of the evening.

BankThe bank is located in the Science Center. The bank will open approximately one hour after the conclusion of the Live Auction. You can also return on Sunday, November 5th, 9:30am-noon, to check out and pick up your items. Please carefully review your checkout statement. If you have an error or question about your statement, please bring this to the attention of the bank staff or auction chair as soon as possible, in order for them to edit the statement before the final submission for payment.

Fund-a-NeedThis year, Fund-a-Need donations will help with-much needed renovations and facility upgrades to the 4th, 5th and 6th grade classrooms. We are planning to paint each classroom and replace the carpet. Ceiling fans will be added to help keep the classrooms cool. We will replace the current heating covers and classroom shelving, as well as upgrade the sink areas. Additionally, we will procure new desks, chairs and necessary furniture in each of the classrooms. Our goal for this year’s Fund-a-Need is $30,000 (approximately $10,000 per classroom).

Heads or TailsBack again by popular demand! Your purchase of this game ticket for $15 entitles you to play this year’s Heads or Tails game. You do not need to be present to win, but must have a bidder number to participate, and you can purchase more than one ticket. Before each flip of the coin, all participants will predict which side of the coin will land face up by standing in the room and signaling HEADS or TAILS with your game card. Choose HEADS by placing your game card on your forehead and TAILS by placing your game card on your backside. If your prediction is wrong, you must be seated and your game ends. If you’re correct, you may continue playing by making another prediction for the next game toss. Once the game is reduced to five (5) players, the emcee will ask the remaining participants to join him on stage for the final rounds of play until there is a winner. The winner of this game receives the CASH prize!

“3-Day Free Dress Pass” TicketsThe $30, 3-Day Free Dress Passes are available for everyone! No need to rush to purchase, as there are free dress pass tickets available for all the children. These tickets are only good for the dates printed on the pass. They are non-transferable and non-refundable. The 3-Day Free Dress Pass dates are:

November 20, 2017 February 12, 2018 May 7, 2018

802 1,000 Cranes for PeaceStudents at OLMC School participated in a peace-themed art project in February 2017, producing artwork used to construct a Senbazuru (千羽鶴), a group of 1,000 origami paper cranes held together by strings. The students’ artwork was folded into 2,000 paper cranes. 1,000 cranes were donated to the Peach Memorial Park in Hiroshima, Japan, where visitors bring millions of cranes each year. These paper cranes come originally from the ancient Japanese tradition of origami or paper folding, but today they are known as a symbol of peace. The remaining 1,000 cranes have been donated to OLMC. Each crane is made from original Mount Carmel student artwork.DONOR: Anonymous VALUE: $500
