Dear Branch members,
It is my great honour to be elected as the Chairman of Oman Branch this year and take up this important role in leading the Branch to its continuous development. The Branch will continue to strive for membership development and professional link with other stakeholders, and maintain a very close working relationship with the Headquarters of IOSH (UK).Since 2013, the IOSH Oman branch has achieved a lot and has got closer to the branch members. It is very pleased to note that theBranch has Memorandum of Understanding signed with Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) & Oman Society of Contractors(OSC), which have wide corporate members working in Oman development. We still aim for better connections with not only theexisting members, but also with non-members who wish to get more acquainted with IOSH and become an active member inpromoting the OHS message and awareness in the Oman.In 2019-20, our main strategic goals for the branch will be make IOSH presence in Oman more visible, supporting Health & SafetyProfessional to develop in their carrier path and Promoting Health & Safety culture to young generations. To achieve our Branch goalsand IOSH strategy WORK-2022- for a safe and healthy world of work, we will best utilize all possible competencies and expertisewithin our branch members.
The focus area of the branch in 2019-20 committee year were;
Oman stresses the importance of Health and Safety of all residents of Oman and we have seen lot of positive change in the safety, health and well-being of the people in the country. Organizations under the directives of Oman Occupational Health & Safety Law are putting efforts for swift change in H&S performance. IOSH branch will be an extended hand for initiatives and development of Health & Safety professionals and in turn H&S performance in Oman by sharing and learning best practices. I personally welcome all Health & Safety professionals in Oman, to join branch and support branch members and society by collaborating, supporting and sharing. Let us put our efforts in best way to serve nation and develop Incident and Pain free work places.
