1.1. ATISATIS 126.47
1.2. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURESLow visibility operations shall commence when:- Touchdown IRVR readings indicate a visibility of 600m or less;- reported meteorological visibility indicates 800m or less (if IRVR is not
available);- reported cloud base is 300’ or less.Regulations require serviceable surface movement radar for operations to con-tinue when meteorological visibility or IRVR is 300m or less. Any unservi-ceability may result in delays in the affected areas of coverage.Arriving ACFT shall delay reporting "Runway vacated" until ACFT has completelypassed the end of green/amber coded TWY centerline lights.
1.3. TAXI PROCEDURESChange in gradient of 2.5% when crossing TWY V from TWY W1 and between TWYW16 to TWY W21. Additional engine thrust may be required. Following ACFTshould maintain a safe distance.
1.4. PARKING INFORMATION1.4.1. GENERAL
Nose-in parking is mandatory, exemptions only given in special cases with spe-cific authorisation from ATC.Parking stands are equipped with Visual Docking Guidance System.
1.4.2. VISUAL DOCKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM (VDGS)Pilots should not enter an ACFT stand unless VDGS is illuminated or a marshallerhas signalled clearance to proceed. In the event of there being no activated VDGSdisplayed upon apch to the stand, flight crews should contact ATC to request mar-shalling assistance. Aircrew must not attempt to self park if VDGS is notilluminated or calibrated for their ACFT type.VDGS system is installed for the main centerline of all stands. It displays topilots on large LED board azimuth and distance-to-go information to positionarriving ACFT accurately to the pre-set ACFT stop position in the parking stand.ACFT docking guidance system consists of an LED board to display real time dock-ing guidance information to pilot, a microprocessor control unit, a laser scanningunit and an operator control panel with real time information display.Pilots should follow taxilane lead-in ground marking to initiate turn into parkingstand. The docking system will capture ACFT about 20^ from centerline.Pilots should follow azimuth guidance on LED board which shows relative positionof ACFT from the centerline. A flashing red arrow on LED board indicates direc-tion of turn to align ACFT nose wheel with centerline of parking stand. Check ACFT type displayed is correct. Distance-to-go information in metres is displayed from 30’/9m from the stopposition. The closing rate is also shown graphically by gradual shortening of thecenterline symbol. Slow down the ACFT speed to halt at the stop position. When ACFT nose wheel reaches correct stop position, distance-to-go readingreaches zero and "STOP" signal and red lights are displayed on the LED board haltACFT from any further movement.

"STOP" will change to an "OK"signal on LED board to indicate ACFT is correctlyparked. If ACFT has overshot stop position, "TOO FAR" signal will be displayedon LED board.Pilots are advised to maintain ACFT taxiing speed at 6 KT (3m/sec) throughoutentire ACFT docking. VDGS units are controlled and monitored from a central workstation. No mar-shaller will be present in bays equipped with fully automatic VDGS. In the event of malfunction of VDGS, pilots should hold position and inform ATC.
1.5. OTHER INFORMATIONBirds.Caution on use of reverse thrust. Sandstorms can result in a sand drifting on tothe RWY which is not always possible to immediately remove. Operation ofreverse thrust in such conditions may result in engine damage.

2.2. RWY OPERATIONS2.2.1. MINIMUM RWY OCCUPANCY TIME
Rapid exit from RWY enables the achievement of MAX RWY utilisation. On exit-ing RWY, pilots are reminded not to stop until entire ACFT has passed RWYholding point. Pilots should anticipate a turn onto TWY V unless otherwiseinstructed.If unable to comply, notify ATC as soon as possible.
2.3. OTHER INFORMATIONRWY 30 PAPI/ILS disharmony. On slope ILS flight may show fly up PAPIindications.
3.1. START-UP AND PUSH-BACK PROCEDURES3.1.1. INITIAL GROUND CONTACT
Pilots are instructed to monitor the ATIS to obtain the correct initial contact fre-quency. Departing ACFT shall establish contact 10 MIN prior to start-up and passthe following information:- ACFT callsign;- ACFT type;- Parking stand;- Destination;- Dubai CTA exit point;- Requested Flight level;- ATIS letter & QNH.
3.1.2. START-UP AND PUSH-BACK APPROVAL PROCEDURES1. ACFT are normally expected to start up during push-back unless otherwise
advised by ATC. ACFT wishing to start engines either before or after push-back should notify ATC.
2. Push-backs are onto active TWYs:- AL MAKTOUM Ground is responsible for issuing Airways/Route Clearance.- Approval to start on stand does not imply an approval to push back.- AL MAKTOUM Ground is responsible for issuing start-up and push-back
approval.
3.2. RWY OPERATIONS3.2.1. MINIMUM RWY OCCUPANCY TIME
Pilots are reminded to pay particular attention to conditional line-up clearancesto avoid RWY incursions. ACFT are assumed to be ready for departure on reachingholding point unless otherwise stated. Cockpit checks shall be completed prior tocompleting line-up so that take-off roll can be commenced without delay. If unable to comply, notify ATC as soon as possible.
