What is Dual Credit?• High school students who demonstrate college

readiness may enroll in college courses. College readiness is determined using test scores from the SAT, ACT, or TSI exams. There is no age limit.

• Dual Credit functions under exceptional admissions and allows students to earn high school credit and college credit at the same time. PSAT scores may be accepted for dual credit course eligibility as well.

Campus Safety and Policies

Campus Health, Safety, & Risk-Management Awareness

LSC strives to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. All new students are required to complete the LSC Student Campus Health, Safety, and Risk-Management Awareness (CHSRMA) Online Modules in compliance with federal and state requirements.

CHSRMA Online Modules

• All new LSC students will receive an email via their my.lonestar.edu email account with a link to access the modules. Students will login using their my.lonestar.edu username.

• All modules are to be completed during your first term at LSC. • Starting in Fall? Complete all courses/components prior to the start of Spring registration. • Starting in Spring? Complete all courses/components prior to the start of Fall registration.

• A quiz is incorporated into each course/component in each module for successful completion. A score of 80% is required to pass; unlimited retakes.

• You will be able to pause any portion of any course/component and go back to the place where you left off.

Step 3: Demonstrate College ReadinessTSI Information• TSI Testing is available either in-person at the LSC-M or Conroe Center

campus or virtual

• TSI test fee ($29) is waived for first time DC testers

• Students need a photo ID. If they don’t have one, you can complete the Accuplacer Student ID Form (located on our dual credit resources website). Form must be notarized.

• TSI Information:

• Untimed Exam, but plan for 3 – 5 hours to test

• 3 parts – English, Essay & Math

• Results are available immediately upon completion

Step 3: Demonstrate College ReadinessScheduling TSI Testing• In-Person Option:

• Students will request a TSI test appointment through the Montgomery testing center website: www.Lonestar.edu/testing-Montgomery. Testing is offered Monday –Saturday.

• Virtual Option:• Students will request a TSI test voucher through the Montgomery testing center

website: www.Lonestar.edu/testing-Montgomery. Virtual testers must have a laptop or desktop computer with a microphone and webcam

• Tests are administered through a third party proctoring company called Examity. There is an additional charge payable to Examity for the remote proctoring service ($25).

• Attending classes at a LSC Campus?• Provide the College with proof of vaccination

(online submission only) or complete a conscientious objection form.

• Parents must sign this form for a Dual Credit Student.

• Students attending DC classes at a high school campus or online only are exempt.

• The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) was established to protect the privacy rights of all students and applies to any educational facility receiving federal funds.

• The Act prevents the release of certain non-directory information held within student records. This means PARENTS, FRIENDS, FAMILY MEMBERS, etc. can’t add/drop your classes, ask about your enrollment or financial aid status, etc. without THE STUDENT’S WRITTEN CONSENT!

• Once a student creates an application with us, they are protected under the FERPA laws regardless of their age.

Reminder:LSCS is not a Homeschool Entity. We do not create or advise on High School Curriculum. However, we do suggest you keep the graduation plan as generalized as possible.

• This form must be signed by student, parent, and principal EVERYTIME, regardless of student age.

• When selecting classes, please indicate the EXACT section the student will be registering for, not just the subject.

• Dual credit students can’t register or drop themselves, so all registrations/drops are completed through the dual credit department

• Please submit all documents using the submission button on our homeschool website. We will reach out to you within 1-2 business days regarding your registration.

Pro Tip: Due to the upcoming busy registration period, classes fill quickly. To reduce back and forth emails and delays, it is a good idea to provide some alternate class selections in case the one you selected is closed at the time of registration.

• Grades in dual credit and college credit only classes become a permanent part of your college record.

• Students who receive a D or F in a dual credit course are not permitted to continue in the dual credit program.

• Must request LSC transcript to transfer credits to another college or university.• Request through your MyLoneStar Account• Each official transcript costs $10

Classroom Expectations

Payment

Payment(s) can be made:• Online via MyLoneStar.• In Person (cash, check, or debit card) at our Business

Office.• Payment Plans Fall/Spring semesters only via myLoneStar.

Guarantee your spot in class (and avoid being dropped). Pay on or before the payment deadline

• Payment is due the same day of enrollment if the payment deadline has passed.

• Payment deadlines available at: LoneStar.edu/payment.

Dropping CoursesOfficial Day of Record • The Official Day of Record each semester is the last day to drop a class without it appearing as a

class attempted on your transcript. • Dropping a class after Official Day of Record will show as a withdrawal, or “W,” on your transcript

and may count toward your Six Course Drop Limit. Note: Refer to the Academic Calendar for Official Day of Record dates.

Six-Drop Rule• The state requires Texas public institutions to limit the total number of class withdrawals to six. • Withdrawals accumulate from all Texas public institutions, but do not include drops that occur on or

before Official Day of Record. • Dual Credit courses do not count toward the six-drop rule, but classes dropped after official

day WILL still appear on the student’s transcript with a W.

Course Repeat Policy• Students will be charged an additional $60 per semester credit hour for attempting most credit

courses 3 or more times.
