Directory numbers are assigned to these types of test equipment with the command CR

    TEPT.

For each directory number, a destination (command CR DEST) and a route (command

CR ROUTE) and a zone point (command CR ZOPT)must be created.

1.2.6 Thresholds for ATE and TU

The number of times that an automatic test will be repeated if a fault is found can be

interrogated with command DISP THR; (output parameter: TEREP). The default value

is 2, and it can be modified with ENTR THR:THRESH=TEREP, VALUE=.

If the ATEor TUreports a fault in a test object several times in succession, the self-test

is started automatically. The threshold at which the self-test is triggered can be defined

by the system operator and displayed with DISP THR; (output parameter FAILATE). The

default value is 10, and it can be modified with ENTR THR:

    THRESH=FAILATE, VALUE=;.

    1.2.7 Test Schedules

Schedules can be assigned to automatic test commands with parameter SCHED. The

schedules can be created with command ENTR TSTSCHEDand can be shared by

several test jobs. The schedules can be deleted with DEL TSTSCHED.

    1.2.8 Test Results

The results of an automatic test job without schedule are output at the end of the test.

Intermediate results (not for a single test) during the test process are only output onrequest, using command DISP TSTRES.

The results of automatic test jobs with schedule are written to a cyclic history file or

archive file. This file is large enough to store the test results accumulated over one week

The commands DISP AENTRYand SEL AENTRYare used to read out the test results

    from the archive file.

    1.2.9 Workstations

Command CR WSTis used to create a workstation for the manual testing of trunks and

    lines.

A workstation can be connected to the system at an LTGof type LTGB: Only one workstation can be connected in the exchange as PT0X. Its name is

specified in the 1st information unit of parameter TERMID. No other information

units may be entered for parameter TERMID.

If a workstation is connected via SMC, both information units of parameter TERMID

(processor and terminal number) must be entered.

The processor name must be created in the system (DISP PRO/CR PRO), other-

wise the command will be rejected.

Parameter WSTSN is used to assign a directory number to the workstation for use

in tests. An additional directory number can be assigned to the workstation for a

service handset with parameter DN. Both directory numbers must be pre-engi-

neered in the exchange and belong to the same local area (LAC).

An originating mark can be specified with parameter ORIG1.

The command will be rejected if

the LTU specified as part of the LTG and LC is not created or

the LTG port data are implausible. To find out what circuit type was created with CRLTU, command DISP PORTcan be entered. The circuit type for a workstation must

    be TPCPRT.

    1.2.10 Workstation Test Port

Up to 8 test ports can be assigned to a workstation. The directory numbers DN of the

test ports must be defined in such a way that they cannot be accessed by ordinary sub-

scribers. The circuit type for a workstation test port must be TETPCPRT. This informa-

tion can be displayed with command DISP PORT.

1.2.11 Workstation GroupIn centers with numerous workstations, it is possible to form workstation groups dedi-

cated to different tasks (line testing/trunk testing).

A group can consist of a maximum of 6 workstations. A workstation can belong to

several groups at the same time (even all groups).

The parameter DIR defines the direction in which outputs will be routed, e.g. to a work-

station group in the exchange under test or to a workstation group in a maintenance

    center.

Parameter FUNC defines the type of test for which the workstation group is responsible.

Parameter PRONAM specifies the processor via which the group can be accessed

(command DISP PRO/CR PRO).It must be ensured that the access to the group (CR

WSTGRP, parameter PRONAM) matches the access to the workstations in the group

(CR WSTparameter TERMID), otherwise the command will be rejected.

Connections to remote workstation groups are controlled by means of unsolicited mes-

sages. The assignment to workstation group and direction is made in accordance with

the function (18) and direction (13) by means of an individual data type. The values

of FUNC and DIR are defined in the parameters entered with MMLcommand CR

WSTGRP. Queues are provided for cases where a specific TLWSor the entire worksta-

tion group is busy. Incoming calls are rerouted to an announcement while waiting in the

queue. Parameter WP (waiting places) defines the maximum number of calls that are

allowed to wait be served per group. Calls in the queue that have not yet been presented

wait for a maximum of 5 minutes in the queue before being released automatically. If aqueue is full, all further calls to this workstation or the workstation group are rejected.

Commands are rejected if the specified workstation(s) has (have) not been created.

    1.3 Administration of Test Objects

    1.3.1 Subscriber Lines

Before testing, state-interrogation and display commands should be entered to verify

that the intended test object is in its normal configuration (ACT).

Command MOD LTESTTHRis used to define thresholds for the resistance, capaci-

tance, external voltage, loop resistance and pulse frequency and pulse duty ratio in sub-

    scriber line and station testing.

Before a test is performed for the first time, the thresholds in the classes for SLMA:FPB,

    SLMA:FPS, SLMD,... must be modified.

When a subscriber is created, threshold class 0 is automatically assigned.

The thresholds defined for each threshold class can be displayed with command

    DISP LTESTTHR:THRCLA=x;.

Command DISP LTESTTHR:SPCVAL=Y; is used to display threshold classes for which

    special values are entered.

1.3.3 Test ClassesA threshold class is assigned to a subscriber with command

    MOD SLNACC:EQN=eqn, TESTCL=xx.

    1.3.4 Trunks

Test data, test types and blockings are assigned to trunks with command ENTR TRDAT.

A test path number is assigned to incoming trunks with parameter TSTDAT. The test

path number is used to access the responder in remote-controlled trunk tests.

Parameter TSTTYP is used to assign trunk group test data to the trunk that were entered

with command ENTR TGTSTDAT. Up to 8 different test types can be entered for a trunk

    group.

These data can be displayed with command DISP TRUNK.

    1.3.5 Trunk Group Test Data

Test data are entered for national and international trunk groups with command ENTR

    TGTSTDAT.

Parameter TSTCL defines a test class for the trunk. The test class represents the test

method and the type of responder in the distant exchange.

Test class 127 must be created for analog measurements on international trunks.

Test class 128 must be created for analog measurements and bit error ratio measure-ments on international trunks.

Test class 129 must be created for bit error ratio measurements (BERM) on international

    trunks.

Parameter TSTMOD defines whether the trunks in the trunk group are to be tested

    directly or by remote access.

If testing international trunks, the direct test option must be created.

Parameter TSTVAL is used to enter an index for overall loss on the trunk for test classes

    1 to 126.

In the case of test classes 127 and 128, parameter TSTVAL assigns templates for level

and noise measurements. These templates are created with command CR TESTTHR.Parameter TSTVAL is not needed for test class 129.

    1.5 Trunk Testing

1.5.1 Testing with the Trunk Workstation

The integrated trunk workstation (TWS) for the manual testing of trunks is used for fault

location, for support in fault clearance and for testing trunks before they are placed in

    service (restored to service).

At the trunk workstation, it is possible to set up calls, receive calls and start manually

controlled tests and measurements. Administrative tasks and status requests for trunks

    are also possible here.

To carry out test functions, the following must be created:

    conference equipment

    ATE:TM / ATE:N/ ATCO

    workstation test port

    headset port

During manual trunk testing and fault clearance, the following can be measured:

    test tones

    composite level, unweighted

    composite level, weighted

    level monitoring with specified limit

    frequency spectra

    MFC or

single frequency with tone pulse evaluation

The announcement workstation (AWS) application provides a convenient user interface

for connections to trunks, announcements or tone generator channels.

    1.5.2 Tests with the ATE:T

The automatic test equipment for trunks (ATE:T) is used to test trunk circuits, incoming

trunks and outgoing trunks in conjunction with a responder.

The ATE:T can also be used to test analog PBXlines, the tones and signals generated

by the tone generator, and responders and special circuits.

To safeguard test results, the ATE:T has a self-test facility.
