employ the industry and job specific skills that they have
developed over the course of their education. By contributing to
the organizational, departmental and team collaborations interns
develop the confidence needed to succeed upon entering the
workforce. Introduction
4. The Human Resources Department is responsible for
administering the externship program with Kaplan by managing staff
records, welcoming and facilitating orientation of new interns,
conducting team meetings, promoting policies, and consolidating
training and procedures. Interns at KapConsulting work in various
capacities during their internship. Each intern is responsible for
successfully performing the duties of the position assigned.

6. Interns must be self-directed. All interns must meet
regularly for all meetings to discuss process and procedural issues
to offer their contributions. Interns will actively participate in
and contribute meaningful and relevant discussions in weekly team
meetings and departmental meetings. Interns will collaborate on
work related projects and complete assigned projects within
predetermined deadlines in order to achieve maximum results.
Interns must follow the chain of command in all forms of

7. Each incoming intern has been assigned a position within
KapConsulting or KapRadio. Each of these positions carries
expectations of the person or persons that hold that position. The
following slides will briefly detail some of the duties that will

8. Human Resources Director Human Resources Director is the
management of the human resource department and is responsible for
assignment of specific roles and responsibilities to individuals
and/or teams combined with structured and organized processes for
task completion and documentation. Human Resources Generalist
Manager The human resources generalist manager works closely with
the director to ensure the timely completion of projects assigned.
The human resource generalist works closely with new incoming
interns as well as existing interns to ensure their needs of

9. Human Resource Generalist The HR generalist works on various
tasks to assist the generalist manager such as research and
development. The generalist will also work on improving existing
processes, policy and procedures. Recruiting Manager The recruiting
manager is for recruiting new interns, filling existing and future
job openings and managing the recruiting staff. HR Development
& Training Manager The Manager of Training and Organizational
Development manages the training department to provide development
and implementation of employee training and management development

10. HR Records Coordinator The HR records coordinator is
responsible for assisting the HR Director and HR Generalist Manager
with file management. The coordinator will also take on various
tasks that will help the HR Department to run smoothly. His/Her
responsibilities will include managing files for the department and
the entire company, and completing various other task assignments
