One API - a world of travel content
Universal API offers an array of travel content including air, hotel, car, high-speed rail, branded fares and ancillary services and the portfolio is growing daily. This document details the suppliers that provide content through Travelport Universal API for the following content types:
• Air API connected carriers (via the Airline Content Hub)• Branded fares• Ancillary services• Rail API connected carriers (via the Rail Content Hub)• Unique properties such as hostels and
boutique hotels from Travelport Rooms and More
Air API-connected carriers
Travelport Universal API provides access to a number of Air API-connected carriers, including low cost carriers (LCCs). Air API-connected carriers always come in through the Airline Content Hub (ACH). Some carriers that are API connected may also file in a Travelport System (e.g., Travelport Galileo). Other carriers may offer a hybrid approach, partially through a Travelport System, and partially through the Airline Content Hub for ancillary content. Ancillary content is aggregated and returned alongside other content from the system.
Air API-connected carriers
Universal API’s single access point provides Air API-connected carriers, including low cost carrier (LCC) data, in a standardized, end-to-end workflow that enables you to maintain one API connection with multiple carriers. In addition, Travelport maintains the connection so you can take advantage of new functionality offered by each carrier without the need for additional coding.
Each Air API-connected carrier is unique, leading to variation among specific carrier implementations. Travelport standardizes functionality as much as possible, but there can be exceptions based on the capabilities of each individual carrier. Travelport’s developer portal (www.developer.travelport.com) enables you to quickly access new carrier content for your application.
Below is a list of the current Air API connected carrier content available through Universal API.

Branded fares and ancillaries
Part of the Travelport Merchandising Suite. It enables airlines to upload rich content and branded images with detailed descriptions and apply them to fare families and ancillary data in order to transform the visual quality of the content that you can deliver in your application.
This content enables you to offer a richer customer experience and increase upsell opportunities. No extra provisioning is needed if you are on v25 or later of the schema, however the most current version of the schema has all the enhancements; the implementation is pure front-end development.

Ancillary services
Travelport Universal API uses air merchandising web services to allow access to optional services (or ancillaries), which allow airlines and travel providers to sell additional products such as seats and bags. The air merchandising web services in Universal API allow customers to shop for ancillary services and book them for a new or existing air reservation

Rail API-connected carriers
Travelport Universal API provides you with access to a number of rail API-connected carriers. Rail content may be available via the Rail Content Hub (RCH) or via a Travelport System such as Travelport Galileo, depending on Travelport’s API content arrangement with the carrier. Dependent upon the carrier, content may be aggregated and returned alongside content from platforms and other content hubs. Or, a different workflow may be used to return only rail content.
Rail API-connected carriers
Universal API’s single access point provides rail API connected carrier data, allows for a standardized, end-to-end workflow, and enables you to maintain one API connection instead of multiple direct API connections with a variety of carriers. With Travelport maintaining the connection, you can take advantage of new functionality offered by each carrier as Travelport updates Universal API.
Rail API-connected carriers
Each rail API-connected carrier is unique, leading to variation among specific carrier implementations. Travelport standardizes functionality as much as possible, but there can be exceptions based on the capabilities of each individual carrier. Travelport provide a portal where you can see the available content, as well as quickly enable new carrier content for your application.
Because functionality for carriers may be subject to change, always confirm functionality directly with Travelport before implementation.
