The Indian audience skews even more open to learning at home, on mobile and on computers.

GloballyMore than half of people said “very interested.” Specifically 65% of males; 51% of females

And when you look at males under 17, this number grows to 84%. This is a huge audience for mobile education.

What we need to do to democratize education access:

1. Dropping prices of tablets and smart-phones

2. Offer easy to consume content in a way that is suited for mobile e.g. creating clips that are 10 minutes or less

3. Make the user experience engaging by adding elements of fun

4. New business models that bring down the cost of receiving an education

Mobile Video: Bridging the Gap

• English in Action (EiA) project in Bangladesh uses mobile to teach English - anticipate that more than 25 million people will be involved by 2017

• “The New York times earlier this year published a list of ways schools could encourage the use of the cellphones in education.

• GSMA mobile industry body found that “Education is one of the three biggest priorities in life for the young people surveyed [in developing worlds], with 39% naming it as their key priority.” 63% of youths surveyed believed that they could learn through even a basic mobile device.
